Recently, a friend asked, what is harvest shrimp? Is it shrimp? Now many friends like to raise ornamental fish to increase the vitality of the family, harvest shrimp is one of the better live bait, the nutritional value is very high. In fact, harvest shrimp is not shrimp, but a creature of other families. Next, let's take a look at the culture techniques of shrimp in bumper years.

First, what is the harvest shrimp?

Harvest shrimp is not shrimp, its accurate classification is the various members of Branchiopoda-Sajia-Unonychia. There are probably more than 300 kinds of prawns under this big item, which means that the harvest shrimp we usually feed are not the same.

General ornamental fish lovers use harvest shrimp to raise fish, they all buy harvest shrimp eggs and feed them directly after hatching. The newly hatched nauplius of harvest shrimp, which contains a lot of protein and unsaturated fatty acids, is an advanced nutritional live bait for ornamental fish.

II. Culture techniques of Shrimp in bumper years

1. Prepare the breeding equipment

The breeding of prawns in bumper years needs almost no equipment and can survive in an environment with very low oxygen content. In the high temperature season in summer, the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water is relatively small, if the breeding density is high, the remaining bait will sometimes deteriorate after feeding, resulting in a serious shortage of dissolved oxygen in the water, at this time, you can also use an air pump to replenish oxygen, but the swimming ability of the shrimp is very weak. Do not form too much water, otherwise you can only float with the current, there is no way to feed on your own. Adapt to the temperature range is also very wide, can also survive in salt water under the ice, summer as high as 40 degrees will not cause a large number of deaths (if high temperature hypoxia, only a small number of deaths), generally for the sake of cost, there is no need to heat up. It can also withstand high ammonia and high pollution, and there is no need for filtration equipment under the condition of family breeding.

2. Specific hatching methods.

Shrimp eggs in bumper years are generally kept in cold storage, and should be placed at room temperature for about a week in advance before hatching, otherwise the hatching rate is low. Small-scale incubation can use small, top-to-large small containers as incubators, filled with light salt water. The water used for hatching is just the opposite of that for aquaculture. Very light sea water, about half of it and half of fresh water, has the highest hatching rate. It should be boiled and sterilized before use to prevent microbes from getting in. An air pump is installed at the bottom of the container, slightly inflating so that the bubble rises slowly from the bottom, but the air volume should not be too large. If the water temperature can be kept at 20-30 degrees, the hatching rate is better, and the lower temperature will not have a serious effect. For the harvest shrimp eggs from different habitats, the time for the first nauplius to hatch their shells will be somewhat different, about one day to one and a half days. At this time, you should stop pumping, rest for 10 to 20 minutes, and let the water stay stratified. Nauplius swim in the middle of the water, empty eggshells float on the surface, and dead and unhatched eggs sink at the bottom. Suck out the middle layer of water containing nauplii with a straw and pour it directly into the culture tank. Then, light salt water can be added to the incubator and continue to pump air for a day or two, and nauplius will continue to hatch.

3. Scientific bait feeding

The best food for shrimp in harvest years is phytoplankton in the sea water. After sunlight, a large number of algae will naturally grow in the sea water to feed the shrimp in harvest years. In general, they can not be fed. However, in the case of high culture density, other small particles of organic matter can also be supplemented to increase the number of shrimp in the bumper year. In the home farming environment, organic wastewater can be continuously added to the water, such as wastewater from protein separators, rice washing water or milk, and yeast powder (dissolved in water). However, attention should be paid to replenishing these wastewater with high organic matter, and the principle of preferring less rather than overuse should be adhered to to control the degree to which the water quality does not deteriorate and become turbid. If it is excessive, the water quality will deteriorate seriously, and the harvest shrimp will die in large numbers.

4. Timely harvest

Nauplius in harvest years can mature after more than ten days of feeding. Most of the adult shrimp in harvest years are female, with few or no males. Mature female harvest shrimp will carry oocysts, at this time the nutrition is the highest, can be harvested.
