Pearl shells with intact shell, full shell and healthy and undamaged pearl shells are selected for culture, and then small pieces of cells and pearl nuclei are implanted into shells through surgery, and then pearls are put into net cages and cultured in water with ropes. Generally, pearls can be raised in 1-2 years.

However, if the water temperature is too high or the temperature difference changes too sharply, the metabolism of the pearl clam will be maladjusted, and the pH value is too low or too high. What are the varieties of pearls?

1. Occaya Pearl

It comes from the coastal harbor area of southern Japan. Mother-of-pearl shellfish is called Okaya, the variety is round, glossy, the color is mostly pink, silver and white, generally 6-9 mm in diameter.

2. Nanyang Pearl

Natural or cultured marine pearls from coastal countries in the South Pacific Ocean are mainly produced by Pinctada martensii or Pinctada martensii, and the main producing countries include Australia, India, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Thailand and so on.

3. Freshwater pearls

Most of them come from China, and the output accounts for 80% of the world. Mother-of-pearl is hybrid shellfish or mussel. The roundness and luster of freshwater pearls are the main factors that affect its price.
