I. the living habits of the soft-shelled turtle

Soft-shelled turtle, as an egg-laying amphibian and reptile, is very common in China. There are mainly soft-shelled turtles, soft-shelled turtles, soft-shelled turtles and turtles in China, among which soft-shelled turtles are the most common.

The turtle's head looks like a turtle, but the back armor does not have turtle-like stripes, the edge has a soft skirt, the shell is softer than the tortoise, dark green, oval in shape and flatter than the tortoise. Soft-shelled turtles live mainly in lakes, ponds, reservoirs, triangles and slow-moving rivers.

Juvenile soft-shelled turtles feed on aquatic insects, water earthworms, tadpoles, shrimps and so on. Adult soft-shelled turtles feed on field snails, clams and other molluscs, fish, shrimp and animal carcasses (because they can't catch fish), as well as vegetable, fruit, miscellaneous grains and other plant feed.

Second, how to raise the young turtle fry?

Prepare a large aquaculture container, which also needs to be covered with a layer of fine sand or soft mud at the bottom, and then put in one or two large stones so that the small turtle can grow normally. The best water for raising soft-shelled turtles is fresh river water, stream water, well water, etc. If tap water is used for feeding, tap water should be placed for several days and then poured into the culture container, and the water should not be changed too frequently.

When changing water for the soft-shelled turtle, we should also pay attention to the need to keep half of the old water, not completely new water, completely new water will also destroy the living environment of the soft-shelled turtle.

If there are conditions for breeding, you can also put some aquatic plants in the container to simulate the wild living environment as far as possible. it is best to raise a few small soft-shelled turtles together, but it is not easy to survive with only one.

If it is a soft-shelled turtle farm, then soft-shelled turtle breeding sites need to be built, and the scale of soft-shelled turtle breeding sites can be determined with the funds of soft-shelled turtle farmers, which can be a pond or a turtle farm composed of dozens of ponds; it can also be in the open air, or a plastic greenhouse can be added or a greenhouse can be built.

Turtle ponds should be built in a place with plenty of sunshine and a quiet environment to avoid being frightened and conducive to the growth of soft-shelled turtles. The soil of turtle ponds should be clay or loam, which is conducive to water conservation. If sandy land that is easy to leak is used, effective anti-seepage measures must be taken.

The water quality of the source must be good and clean, and it shall not be polluted by industrial and agricultural pesticide sewage. The water in rivers, lakes and reservoirs is the best, and the well water should raise the water temperature through the sun pool.
