Fattening cattle is a kind of cattle mainly producing beef. In China, the main breeds of fattening cattle are Charolais cattle, Limuzan cattle, Luxi cattle, Qinchuan cattle, Yanbian cattle, etc. How to raise fattening cattle?

I. Seed selection

First of all, it is necessary to select healthy cattle breeds suitable for local breeding. It is recommended to select strong, healthy and disease-free purebred Simmental, Limousin or Angus beef cattle, or the hybrid generation of above high-quality beef cattle and local yellow cattle, with bulls as the preferred one.

II. Breeding environment

Then prepare a suitable breeding environment to ensure that the cowshed ventilation, lighting are good, temperature at 10-21℃ is more appropriate.

The environment quality of cattle house directly affects the growth speed of beef cattle. In order to create a good living environment for beef cattle, the old cattle house should be repaired as soon as possible, the equipment and equipment should be adjusted, and the cattle house and sports ground should be cleaned regularly. The disinfection and pest control should be carried out regularly to keep the cattle house quiet, ensure good lighting and smooth ventilation in the house, properly configure the temperature and humidity regulation equipment, and keep the temperature in the house at 10~21℃ to promote the rapid growth of beef cattle.

III. Fattening methods

Fattening is carried out in a suitable way and feed is fed at fixed points.

The fattening methods commonly adopted by farmers include continuous fattening of calves, short-term fattening of shelf cattle and short-term fattening of eliminated cattle, which can be selected according to demand.

Fattening cattle are fed 2 - 3 times a day at fixed times for 1.5 - 2 hours each time. Feeding according to each fattening cattle should be provided by the nutrition determined by the amount of feed to feed, can not be arbitrarily increased or decreased. The general feeding order is coarse first, then fine, that is, first feed hay (corn straw), then feed distiller's grains, concentrate, drinking water. In winter, they drank water once a day after feeding and once again at noon. In summer and autumn, in addition to drinking water in winter, add one night drinking water.

The feed formula in fattening period should also be designed according to the nutritional requirements of beef cattle in different stages.

IV. Other management

During the breeding period, management and disease prevention are also well done.

1. It is necessary to brush the cattle body. Brushing can keep the cattle clean, promote skin metabolism and blood circulation, improve feed intake, and facilitate the management of fattening cattle. Brush regularly 1-2 times a day, after finishing cattle feed in the playground brush.

2. The keeper shall pay attention to the hygiene of feeding trough, cattle body, forage and drinking water, and clean the ground every day. Observe the feeding, rumination and defecation of cattle. If there is any abnormality, dispose of it in time.

3. Disinfection and epidemic prevention should also be done well. Suspected infectious diseases should be isolated in time, prevention should be given priority, and immunization should be done well. Injection of emphysema formaldehyde alum vaccine, anthrax vaccine, tetanus vaccine, foot and mouth disease vaccine, clostridium welchii inactivated vaccine, etc.
