Select the appropriate bee colony and select the hive according to the bee population. Transfer bees to hives and acclimate them to their new environment. During the honey gathering period, bees should be properly artificially fed, and during the spring and autumn breeding period, reward feeding should be carried out; during the autumn breeding period, bees can be successfully overwintered.

II. Precautions for bee species selection

1. Identify your own beekeeping area

Different bee species are cultivated in different areas, mainly because of the differences in cold tolerance, reproduction, honey collection, spitting and so on. Generally speaking, it is best to use black bee species in North China. This bee species has strong cold resistance, but its heat resistance is worse than that of Chinese bees suitable for growth and feeding in South China (subtropical zone). For example, Chinese bees are fed in many areas of South China. In other honey-rich plains and shallow mountains, suitable for raising Italian bees. According to their own region to choose the appropriate bee species, we can give full play to the excellent performance of their respective bee species.

2. Number of initial purchase colonies

As mentioned above, after first determining your own beekeeping area, the next step is to determine the number of bees to buy according to your needs. If you are a novice, it is best not to buy more than 10 groups, with 5-10 groups as well. Advance can attack and retreat can defend, step by step groping and learning, wait until the beekeeping technology is mature before buying or breeding a large number of bee colonies, so as not to cause uncontrollable losses.
