Bamboo rat, also known as Dongmao mouse, Mangdong mouse and so on, is a kind of animal with high economic value and medicinal value. At present, many farmers have begun to raise bamboo mice in person, so do you know how to raise young bamboo rats?

I. Construction of breeding ponds

Generally speaking, there are two kinds of breeding ponds, and the reproductive effect will be better if they are used comprehensively. One is the litter pool, which is divided into the inner pool and the outer pool. The inner pool is the nest of bamboo rats, and the outer pool is the place where mother rats feed and exercise. The bottom of the cement board separated by the inner and outer pool is connected by a round hole with a diameter of 12cm, so that the mother rats can be moved to the litter pool after pregnancy. The other is a large breeding pool, in which a 30cm wide insulation slot is built on one side of the pool, and there are two holes with a diameter of 12cm under the partition of the insulation tank, which are connected with the large pool. In addition, a cover plate is added to the insulation trough for bamboo rats to rest inside. Each pond can raise 3 males and 12 females.

Second, secondary seed selection

When purchasing seeds, select good individuals as far as possible, and then through self-breeding, select offspring that give birth to more than 4 babies a year, more than 4 offspring per fetus, and leave good individuals weaned at the age of 30-35 days and weighing more than 250g to breed.

3. Repeated breeding

There is the best mating time for mother rats after giving birth and after weaning. For the first time, it is called "blood matching". Only when it is fully adapted to domestic breeding, blood matching is easy to succeed. After weaning, the female rats were immediately put back to the big pond to be raised in groups, and the three males were allowed to mate with them in turn to achieve the purpose of repeated breeding.

IV. Male-female ratio

Novice breeders can give birth to 4-5 babies a year and 2-3 mothers a year, and most of them can only have 2-3 births a year. If it is raised by multi-male and multi-mother groups, it will be able to adapt quickly, and the reproduction rate and litter size can be greatly improved.

Fifth, carefully protect the fetus

After 1 month of pregnancy, bamboo mice should be fed with succulent fresh and tender green fodder. 10 days before delivery, the young rats were weaned, and 20-30g sweet potatoes, sweet potatoes or horseshoes were fed daily. At the same time, bone meal and multivitamins are added to the concentrate.

VI. Meticulous proportioning

200-250g concentrate and 2-3 kinds of coarse feed should be supplied every day. Mix porridge with concentrate and add some salt and mineral feed additives. 80% of the raw material is required to be fresh.

VII. Environmental conditions

1. Quiet

Moving, noise, bright light, noise stimulation, man-made disturbance, etc., will make bamboo rats stop breeding for a period of time. Even if it can be mated, the pregnancy rate is very low.

2. Temperature

The suitable temperature for bamboo rat breeding is 8-28 ℃. In case of high temperature, appropriate cooling measures can be taken to make it reproduce normally. When the temperature is below 5 ℃, the bedding grass in the litter room and heat preservation trough should be 10-15cm thick so that the litter can be born in winter to ensure survival.

The above is the breeding method of giving birth to young bamboo rats. have you learned it?
