Crocodiles belong to a kind of special farming, which is a project with high risks but high profits. At present, the price of crocodile meat is very high in the market, so many people try to raise crocodiles. If you want to raise crocodiles well, you must let them survive the winter safely. How to raise crocodiles in winter?

1. Water temperature requirements

The original ambient temperature of the crocodile is 27-34 degrees, and the optimum temperature is 32 degrees. If it is less than 25 degrees, the activity will decrease, and if it is less than 10 degrees, it will go into hibernation, so try to control the water temperature above 25 degrees in winter. Generally in early November, crocodile turtles raised in the breeding pond should be incorporated into the indoor overwintering pond. If you want to overwinter outdoors, it is best to build a plastic greenhouse, or cover half of the pool surface with a large piece of plastic sheeting at the windward end of the overwintering pond to protect against the wind and keep warm. Before the pool, thoroughly disinfect and kill the pathogen of the overwintering pond, then wash the pool, and then spread the fine sediment with a diameter of 0.6 mm or so 30 cm thick. After proper treatment of the sick and injured or frail crocodile turtles, overwintering in another pond. The overwintering density should be 100-150 per cubic meter of water. The depth of the pool is kept above 1.5 meters.

2. Strengthen daily management

When the temperature is high in early winter, crocodile turtles will still go out to look for food. They should be fed with nutritious and palatable bait, and the remaining bait should be removed in time. The wintering pond requires that the water quality is light green or light brown. If the pool water is too fat, when the transparency is less than 30 cm, part of the pool water should be replaced; when the pH value is less than 7, an appropriate amount of quicklime paste can be sprinkled to adjust. During the overwintering period, the water is generally changed 3-5 times, and each time the temperature of the new water is basically the same as that of the old water in the pool. The temperature difference should not exceed 4 ℃. The depth of the pool is always kept above 1.5 meters. Keep quiet during the winter and try not to walk in the pool to avoid worrying about crocodile turtles. If it is found that crocodile turtles are sick or have parasites, timely diagnosis and treatment should be made to minimize death and reduce losses.

3. Feeding requirements

Feed it once a day in early spring and early winter, preferably when the temperature is highest on this day. Late spring to late autumn is the peak season for turtles to eat. They should be fed twice a day (remember, not twice but twice), from 9 am to 10:00 and 4 pm to 5 pm. Mornings account for 40% of the day's total. 60% in the afternoon. Raising alligator turtles does not warm him up in winter, because he is afraid that he will eat very much all the year round, so he is still raised according to his biological clock which belongs to him in the normal natural festival.
