Drugs for the prevention of African classical swine fever

African classical swine fever virus does not infect humans, is not zoonotic, and has no public health hazards. However, there is no effective vaccine and treatment at present, but high temperature and disinfectant can effectively kill the virus. once the disease occurs, all the pigs in the diseased pig farm and the surrounding 3 kilometers will be culled, which will bring huge economic losses to the pig industry. Therefore, biosafety (including disinfection) measures are the last line of defense against African classical swine fever.

Types of drugs

(1) the most effective disinfectants are detergent, hypochlorite, alkali and glutaraldehyde.

(2) 2% sodium hydroxide (30 min), 10% hypochlorite (30 min), 0.5% formalin spray (30 min) or fumigation disinfection of 2.5ml/m3, 3% o-phenylphenol (30 min) can inactivate the virus.

(3) Alkali (sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, etc.), chloride and phenolic compounds are suitable for disinfection of buildings, wood structures, cement surfaces, vehicles and related facilities and equipment, and alcohol and iodide are suitable for personnel disinfection.

(4) equipment that is not easy to disinfect (such as metals, etc.) should be exposed to the sun or sterilized by flame.

Disinfection method

(1) 20.3% caustic soda solution was prepared in the disinfection pool at the entrance of the vehicle in the pig farm, and the car body could only be entered by stopping and disinfecting 30min; the car body was sprayed with glutaraldehyde + decylmethylammonium bromide.

(2) the personnel disinfection passageway is disinfected with 1RU 100 Wendi spray

(3) the floor and buildings in the pig farm should be disinfected with 1RU 800 Wendi or 2% caustic soda solution to increase the frequency of disinfection, which can be 4 or more times a day.

(4) Feed trucks, dung trucks and other utensils are disinfected with 1RV 800 Wendi after cleaning.

(5) the trough and pigs can be sprayed with 1RU 800 guard (iodine, potassium iodide) to avoid excessive humidity.

(6) Pig farm staff should wash their hands frequently with soap and water, change clothes frequently, and it is best to irradiate and disinfect clothes with ultraviolet lamp after washing.

(7) spray disinfection of feces, urine and other dirt with 3% caustic soda solution

(8) the disinfection of empty column shall be carried out according to the disinfection procedure of pig farm.
