Princess Diana once said, "if a woman can only have one piece of jewelry, it must be a pearl." The following editor will introduce how cultured pearls are formed. What's the difference between natural pearls and natural pearls?

I. how to form cultured pearls

According to the theory of the origin of natural pearls, shellfish and mantle are cut into small pieces by artificial method and transplanted into the tissue of another shellfish. After a series of changes, the transplanted mantle piece forms a pearl sac and secretes pearl to form seedless pearl. In addition, the pearl nucleus made of clam shell or other materials was implanted at the same time of mantle transplantation. After a series of changes, the pearl sac was formed around the pearl nucleus, and then the pearl was deposited around the pearl nucleus to form artificial pearl.

II. The difference between cultured pearls and natural pearls

To put it simply, pearls are actually divided into two categories, namely, wild pearls and artificially cultured pearls. Many people have a deep misunderstanding about "cultured pearls" and think that they are not natural pearls! I would like to correct you here that → cultured pearls, like wild pearls, are natural pearls, and 99% of the pearls on the market are farmed.

Wild pearl

Wild pearls should be well understood, that is, without any artificial intervention, pearls naturally formed in shellfish and conch can be said to be very rare, and very few are suitable for jewelry! At present, there are only four kinds of wild pearls, namely, conch beads, Merlot beads, abalone beads and mustard beads.

Artificially cultured pearl

Compared with the rarity of wild pearls, cultured pearls are much closer to the people. Artificial cultured pearls are mainly divided into seawater pearls and freshwater pearls, the quality of freshwater pearls are very general, the price is also different. There are four kinds of → Nanyang seawater pearls, Japanese akoya seawater pearls, Mabei pearls and Guangxi Nanzhu pearls.

Nanyang seawater pearl

Most of the pearls produced by Nanyang are of good quality, such as the well-known Nanyang White Pearl, Nanyang Golden Pearl and Tahiti Black Pearl are all Nanyang sea pearls! The biggest feature of Nanyang pearl is its large head and diameter in 9~20mm, which is very rare. In addition, the glossiness of Nanyang pearls is also very good, the pearl layer is also thick, no wonder it is sought after by everyone!
