Lotus is a limited representative plant every summer, and its short blooming time does not mean that it can be viewed all year round like other plants. Do you know when the arrow lotus blossoms? Let's have a look!

First, make the arrow lotus blossom for several months

Make the arrow lotus bloom about April to June every year. With a wide variety of flowers and colors, the arrow lotus is a more ornamental plant in summer.

Second, the main propagation methods of Ling Arrow Lotus

1. Cuttage propagation

It is generally propagated by cutting. It can be carried out all the year round in the greenhouse, but the cutting from May to July is the best. The cuttings choose the 2-year-old leafy branches which are disease-free and pest-free and grow strong and thick, and the leafy branches of the same year are tender and easy to rot. After the cuttings were cut from the mother plant. Cut a piece of 8~10cm with a sharp knife. Leave it in a cool and ventilated place for about 1 day. Wait for the wound to dry into a thin film before cutting. If it is propagated in large quantities, the seedbed should be established before cutting. The cutting substrate is plain sand, and the seedling bed is disinfected with 0.1% potassium permanganate solution before use. Cuttings are cut with small wood chips while making holes to prevent the tissue at the incision from being damaged. Spray enough water and shade after insertion, keep the temperature at 15: 20 ℃, keep the seedling bed moist, but not too wet. It is found that when the cuttings wilt slightly due to high temperature, you can use a fine sprayer to spray the plant. Generally, new roots can grow in 20-30 days, and should be transplanted in time after rooting. Such as family reproduction, cuttings can be directly inserted in loose, fertile, well-drained acid soil.

2. Grafting propagation

The arrow lotus can also be propagated by grafting. Rootstocks generally choose cactus with strong growth potential and should be split-jointed, which can be carried out at room temperature above 15 ℃. The survival rate of grafting was the highest under the condition of room temperature 20-25 ℃.

When grafting, cross-cut the upper end of the rootstock with a sharp steel knife (the steel knife should be sterilized with alcohol to prevent infection), then cut a wedge at the top, and then flatten the lower two sides of the scion. The scion is then inserted into the crack and then inserted with a fine bamboo needle to secure the scion. After grafting, put the arrow lotus in a semi-shaded place, pay attention to the wound without touching water, and move to a sunny place after 7 days.
