Orchid grass is also known as bamboo leaf grass and duck metatarsus. Alias: Cui Luli. They generally grow on wetter grasslands or at higher elevations. So do you know how to raise orchids? Let's have a look together!

First, how to raise orchids and plants

Cultivation of orchid requires the selection of humus-containing clay loam, which can facilitate subsequent drainage. The lowest soil temperature is 5-8 ℃, the highest temperature is 20 ℃, and the optimum temperature is 16-18 ℃. It should be watered in time during the dry period in spring and drainage should be paid attention to in the rainy season. Usually topdressing can be carried out according to the season and weeding in time.

II. Methods of reproduction

1. Ramet

Ramet propagation is carried out every 2 ~ 4 years, either after flowering in spring or in autumn. After flowering (avoiding the plum rain season), if the cultivation management is proper, the flower buds differentiate well before the early winter, which will not affect the flowering of the following year. Clear scape before ramet, truncate the leaf clump 1 beat 3 times 1 stop 2 to reduce the loss of water; when dividing the rhizome, it is better to have 2-3 buds per piece and new roots with vigorous growth; for the species of stout rhizomes, the incisions should be dipped in plant ash or sulfur powder and replanted when the incisions are slightly dry to prevent bacterial infection. The newly planted plants grew vigorously and blossomed more in the first 2 ~ 3 years. The growth of undivided plants for many years is obviously weak, and the flowering is few and small. If a large number of propagation, the new rhizome can be divided, cuttings in wet sand to maintain a temperature of 20 ℃, adventitious buds can be produced within 2 weeks.

2 seed propagation

Seed propagation should be carried out immediately after the seed is mature, so that the seed is easy to germinate. The seedlings will blossom after 2 years. If measures are taken to make them continue to grow in winter after sowing, they can blossom in 18 months. In order to make the seeds germinate ahead of time, the seeds can be soaked for 24 hours after maturity, refrigerated for 10 days, and then sowed in the cold bed in the same autumn; seeds should not be dried and sowed with sun-dried seeds, they must be stored in low temperature sand for 50 days before sowing, but the germination rate is not high.
