I. Temperature

The North American snapping turtle has a strong ability to adapt to the environment. They can survive normally when the water temperature is 2-38 degrees Celsius. The most suitable living temperature for North American snapping turtle growth is 28-30 degrees Celsius. It can normally overwinter above 1℃, enter shallow hibernation below 12℃, enter deep hibernation at 6℃, reduce activity at 15℃~17℃, and eat normally above 18℃.

II. Feeding

North American snapping turtles are omnivorous, eating plants but preferring carnivorous things. Such as fry, shrimp, viscera, pork, beef, etc., in the wild growth of North American snapping turtle will also prey on birds or snakes and other animals, artificial breeding can be used professional turtle food breeding. Don't feed the North American snapping turtle too much, or it will be stuffed to death.

III. Sunlight

The North American snapper turtle should be exposed to the sun at least once a week. The time can be selected before 10 a.m. or after 5 p.m., when the sunlight is softer and less intense than noon. It is very suitable for bathing in the sun.

IV. Water change

In order to keep the water clean and not polluted, it is necessary to change the water for the North American snapping turtle. The water can be changed once every three days. If there is a filtration system, it is not a problem to change the water for a long time. If you use tap water for farming, you need to dry the water for two to three days before you can use it. Note: Do not change the water at one time, leaving 1/3 of the original water.

North American snapping turtles are divided into two major species, commonly known as big crocodile and small crocodile, they have four subspecies, respectively, North America, Florida, South America, Central America.
