Anchovies are valuable economic fishes. Because their tails are bifurcated like Phoenix tails, short and red, thin and long, like Phoenix tails, they are called "anchovies". So, how do anchovies mate and reproduce?

How do anchovies mate and reproduce?

When the mating apparatus of the male fish is inserted into the cloaca of the female fish, the sperm is excreted and fertilized in vivo. After mating, the female will give birth three times, even if she does not have contact with the male.

What is the culture method of anchovies?

1. Cleaning and disinfection

Make sure the fish tank is clean and disinfect when fully changing the water. After disinfecting and using disinfectant, rinse with clean water to ensure that the residual chemicals are cleaned, and finally use boiled water to scald. Add boiled water to pour in several times, one-time into may cause the fish tank burst, it is best to first to a small amount of boiling water in the fish tank, wait for the glass to adapt to the temperature before adding.

2. Water quality and water temperature

The suitable water temperature for growth and survival of anchovies is 22 ℃-26 ℃, and the PH value is 6.5-7.5. The water quality has a certain hardness, and too soft water is not conducive to the survival of anchovies. The water quality is clean and clear, water circulation facilities should be installed and filters should be used to ensure that the water quality will not deteriorate. To maintain water quality, we also need to adhere to the change of water, the principle of water change is frequent and less. Change the water every half a month, 1/4 of the total amount of water, to prevent drastic changes in water quality from harming anchovies.

3. Feeding method

Anchovies are fed with red nematodes, water fleas and dried feed. The young anchovies are fed live shrimp larvae as far as possible, which is rich in nutrition. 5-month-old anchovies should not be fed too full. Based on the principle of eating less and eating more, feed 4-6 times a day without too much head circumference.

4. The number of fish raised

The number of anchovies depends on the size of the bathtub and the density of the fish. Feeding density can not be too large, too large changes in water quality cause disease, too small fish do not have to eat, lack of exercise slows down growth. The body length of adult anchovies is 3cm-4cm, the size of fish tank is 50cm*40cm*30cm, and the suitable breeding quantity is 50-60.

Anchovies are relatively easy to raise a kind of tropical fish, the requirements for water quality and temperature are not too high, the adaptability is also very strong.
