Silk is the main raw material source of silk. Silkworm breeding was one of the important economic sources of families in ancient times. Silk was woven in the traditional male farming and female weaving in the small-scale peasant economy. It can be said that silkworm occupied an important position in the economic life and cultural history of ancient China. So how should silkworms be raised?

1. Key points of silkworm breeding

1. Early preparation: prepare silkworm rooms and silkworm tools on the basis of mulberry leaves; spray disinfection with 1% strong chlorine essence 7 days before silkworm rearing, half a catty of liquid medicine per square meter, seal for more than 24 hours after spraying, and at the same time, spray disinfection around silkworm rooms.

2. Mulberry leaves: In silkworm rearing, it is best to pay attention to fresh mulberry leaves. Mulberry leaves that have been stored for too long cannot be fed. Unfresh mulberry leaves are easy to cause silkworm diseases.

3. Temperature: Silkworm is a temperature-changing animal, the adaptation range is 20~30℃. Spring silkworm period often meets the climate of low temperature and humidity, the key point is to replenish temperature and remove humidity. Summer silkworm period high temperature and humidity, the focus is to cool down and remove humidity, keep the silkworm room air circulation, remove sultry. Autumn silkworm period if the case of high temperature and dry, it is necessary to indoor moisture.

4. Incubation: on the eighth day or so of silkworm eggs ex-warehouse, a small black dot can be seen at one end of silkworm eggs, called green dot. A silkworm egg has 20% green dot. Use black cloth to shade it. Calculate from the day of green dot. Remove black cloth at 5 o 'clock in the morning of the third day and turn on the light for photosensitive incubation.

5. Disease prevention: Silkworm disease more, generally to prevent mainly, after the occurrence of disease with special agents for disinfection, at the same time can not be thrown sick silkworm, its infectivity is relatively large.

6. Management: When feeding mulberry leaves, it is best to feed 2-3 times a day, and secondly, the breeding room cannot be scented and usually do not put mosquito coils, perfume and other odors to prevent the death of silkworms.

7. Hygiene: When silkworm feces accumulate too much, germs are easy to breed and spread. Silkworm feces should be cleaned up in time, usually on the same day. In addition, the skin taken off by silkworms and the remaining mulberry leaves should be cleaned up in time.

II. Sericulture in China

Now China's cocoon silk output and export volume account for more than 70% of the world's total, has become a leading world cocoon silk price trend. With the advent of the machine industrialization era, the traditional sericulture gradually began to decline, in recent years, most of the farmers who earn money in the sericulture industry have strong economic strength and stable sales channels.

Traditional sericulture has a history of more than 4,000 years. Silkworm domestication existed before the Xia Dynasty. Silkworm breeding from mulberry pests created sericulture technology. In the Shang Dynasty, there was a "female silkworm", which was the official of the silkworm. In oracle bone inscriptions, silkworm god and Shangjia micro-sacrifice together, which is extremely respected for silkworm affairs. Nowadays sericulture is actively transforming and adopting more scientific technologies and methods for breeding.

About sericulture we say here, individual raise one or two silkworm babies can also, but do not recommend large-scale silkworm breeding, generally speaking, the industry has been very stable, blind development may lead to losses.

Silkworm breeding should be disinfected in the early stage, fresh mulberry leaves should be put in during feeding to ensure temperature, and at the same time, it should be promoted. In addition, attention should be paid to the hygiene of silkworm rooms to prevent diseases.
