We have all eaten eel, whether it is stir-fried or other cooking methods, it is very delicious. So do you know how eels breed? Let's have a look!

How do eels reproduce

Eels reproduce mainly by laying eggs. The reproductive season of Monopterus Albus is saved from June to August and generally develops on the water surface. Both males and females have the habit of protecting nests.

2. steps of co-culture of running water eels and worms

1. Build a pool: choose a place with perennial running water to build a pool. The pool is a cement pool, the pool area is 30, 50, 80 square meters, the pool wall is 80-100 cm high, the water inlet and outlet are installed at the opposite corner, and the escape prevention equipment is installed.

two。 Heap soil: pile several soil beds 1.5 wide and 25 cm thick in the pond. The distance between the border and the border is 20 cm, and the distance between the border and the pond wall is 20 cm. The soil must be loam rich in organic matter so as to facilitate the reproduction of earthworms and the drilling and hiding of rice field eels.

3. Cultivate earthworms: after the soil is piled up, keep the water depth in the pond 5-10 cm, then put 2.5-3 kg of Taiping No.2 earthworm species per square meter of soil area, and spread 4-5 cm thick fermented cow dung on the border to let earthworms breed. Every 3-4 days, scrape off the upper layer of cow dung eaten by earthworms, and add 4-5 kg of new fermented cow dung per square meter. After 14 days or so, earthworms multiply in large numbers and can be put into eel species.

4. Stocking: the stocking density depends on the specifications of eels. In terms of the whole pool area, 30-40 pieces per kilogram, 4 kg per square meter, and 40-50 pieces per kg, 3 kg per square meter. From April to November, the survival rate is more than 90%, and the specification is 6-10 per kilogram.

5. Management: after the eel species are put in, the water depth in the pond is kept at about 10 cm, and micro-running water is maintained all the time. Then scrape off a layer of cow dung from the border every 3-4 days, and then add 4-5 kg of fermented new cow dung per square meter to ensure the continuous reproduction of earthworms for eels to feed in the soil and no longer feed on other fodder.
