The pomegranate fruit is rich in nutrition, and the content of vitamin C is one or two times higher than that of apples and pears. The history of pomegranate cultivation in China can be traced back to the Han Dynasty. According to Lu Gong, Zhang Qian was introduced from the Western regions. So, how do pomegranate trees reproduce?

1. Cuttings

Short branch insertion: before sprouting, the annual and biennial branches of disease-free insects were cut from the strong mother plant as seed strips, and the seed strips were cut into short cuttings with 2 to 3 knots, and the lower end of the cuttings was cut into a smooth slope, which was soaked in 40% carbendazim 300 times or 5% carbendazim 300 times for 10 to 15 seconds for sterilization. Then soak the lower end of the cuttings in rooting powder solution for 5 seconds, or soak in 0.05% indole acetic acid solution for 2 seconds, or soak 0.05% naphthalene acetic acid solution for 3 seconds before cutting. According to the row spacing of 30 cm × 12 cm, insert the cuttings obliquely downward into the soil, and the bud eye at the upper end is 1 cm to 2 cm from the ground. Water immediately after inserting a trunk, and the side of the box is slightly dry to hoe to increase the ground temperature. After irrigation, plastic film or wheat bran can be used to cover and preserve soil moisture.

Long branch cuttings: mostly used for direct establishment of garden or a small amount of reproduction in the courtyard. The planting point is to dig a planting pit with a diameter of 60 cm to 70 cm and a depth of 50 cm to 60 cm. About 5 kg of rotten soil fertilizer is used outside the pit and then mixed with topsoil. 2-3 1-2-year-old cuttings 80 cm to 100 cm long are inserted into each pit at an angle of 50 to 60 degrees. Insert 40 cm to 50 cm deep into the pit, then fill the soil while stepping, finally irrigate and repair the tree plate, cover with plastic film or grass to preserve moisture.

2. Pressing strip

Before sprouting, cut the sprouting tillers of the larger rhizosphere of the mother tree from the base to promote the root, and then cultivate the soil 8 cm to 10 cm to maintain the soil moisture. After autumn, the rooting plants were cut off from the mother plants to form seedlings. The sprouting strip can also be bent and pressed into the soil of 10 cm to 20 cm in spring and cut several places with a knife to promote the new root, the top tip exposed and made it upright, then cut off the connection with the mother plant, dig seedlings with roots and plant. Or in the pomegranate growing season, the branches of the pomegranate near the ground are bent downward, a section of which is buried in the soil, and the part buried in the soil is cut with a knife to promote rooting. After rooting, the pomegranate seedling is cut off from the mother plant to form a new pomegranate seedling. When pressing, it is better to bury 15cm in the soil, too deep, low temperature, unfavorable to rooting, too shallow and easy to dry is also disadvantageous to rooting.

For rare varieties, you can use the method of air striping to breed, cut part of the branches with a knife, and then cover them with pots or other containers that can be separated into two halves, which are filled with substances that are easy to store water, such as muddy soil or moss. After pouring enough water, tie with plastic sheeting, usually pay attention to moisturizing, after rooting, cut off from the container can be planted.
