Turtle seedlings usually spend the winter by hibernating. Throughout the overwintering period, the tortoise's eyes are closed, head and tail limbs are retracted into the shell, do not eat motionless excretion, until the sting before moving position. Therefore, in the hibernation period, there is no need to feed or change water, the main work of this period is heat preservation.

1. Artificial rearing of turtle seedlings

1. Because the tortoise is gentle and timid, it is necessary to keep quiet around the breeding pond so as not to affect the turtle's normal activities such as feeding, basking in the sun, mating and spawning.

2. Often change the water in the breeding pond, keep the water clean, and do a good job in the hygiene of the breeding pond, so as to prevent the disease of turtles.

3. The sandy soil on the open space around the pool and between the walls should maintain a certain humidity, and some cooling measures should be taken in the midsummer season, such as sprinkling water, planting some small shrubs and so on.

4. before the hibernation period, check the growth of the tortoise, add more feed to the weak, and feed the turtle more food, so that the tortoise can accumulate a large amount of nutrients, grow strong and survive the winter safely.

Precautions before hibernation of tortoise seedlings

1. Check the health of the small turtles. If the turtles have just recovered or are sick, or if they are too small, it is recommended to raise them by heating or temporarily raising the temperature, so as to postpone the hibernation time. It is necessary to ensure the health of the little turtles so that they can survive the winter safely.

2. Increase nutrition so that the turtles have enough physical strength to survive the winter. Increase the amount of feed before hibernation, when feeding bread worms is the best, with high protein and high calories.

3. There is plenty of sunshine. If you eat a lot, you must absorb and digest. Let the turtle bask in the sun more, which helps to absorb and digest.

4. clean up the intestines and stomach and have plenty of nutrients. the next step is to soak in warm water to help the turtles defecate more and empty the food accumulated in the intestines. Otherwise, during hibernation, the food in the intestines will ferment and deteriorate, resulting in the accidental death of the turtle.

5. Put it in a sand or container prepared for the turtle and cover it with a towel or newspaper. Then you can hibernate smoothly.
