Earthworms can be used as bait to fish, as feed to fish, can also be used as medicine to treat diseases, a wide range of uses, many people raise it to make money. So, what kind of soil is used to raise earthworms?

What kind of soil is used to raise earthworms?

Earthworms can be raised without soil, usually with fermented cow dung. If some people think it is unsanitary, they can use relatively soft garden soil, or mix it with sawdust, or use horse dung paper, grass wrench paper and garden soil that are torn up and soaked with water.

Second, earthworm box basket feeding method

1. Prepare the box basket: it can be made of wood, bamboo, bauhinia, rattan, plastic, etc. The specifications can be 60cm*30cm*20cm, 60cm*40cm*20cm, 60cm*50cm*20cm, 60cm*20cm*30cm, 60cm*40cm*30cm. There should be drainage and ventilation holes on the bottom and side of the box basket.

2. Loading in the box: the loading should not be too much, so as to avoid poor ventilation; the stacking height is about 16cm, which will not dry the feed and is beneficial to the growth and reproduction of earthworms.

3. Stocking earthworms: choose suitable earthworms to be put in the box basket, such as Daping II, which is not only larger, but also has a longer life span, stronger reproductive ability, and easier to raise.

4. feed: earthworms are omnivorous animals that feed on rotten organic matter. Cow dung, pig manure, straw and weeds can be used as feed when breeding. The feed formula is 100% cow dung, or 50% cow dung, 35% pig manure, 150% straw, or 50% pig manure and 50% straw / weeds. Feed must be fully fermented and ripened so as not to cause earthworms to die.

5. Daily management: the best breeding temperature for earthworms is 20-27 ℃, the air relative humidity should be kept at 70% 80%, and ventilation should be 3-4 times a day for 30 minutes each time. When earthworms reach commodity specifications, large earthworms should be harvested in time.
