How does the little turtle spend the winter?
The little tortoise is one of the pets that people like to raise nowadays. Many people think that it is cute, and the breeding method is simple, and there is no need to take it out for a walk. So, how does the little turtle spend the winter?
1. Temperature
(1) in the northeast, northwest and northern regions, the winter temperature is very low and the temperature is generally below 0 ℃, so the baby turtles can be put in the greenhouse to spend the winter. These places are heated, and the temperature is usually between 15 and 18 ℃, so that the baby turtles will not freeze to death in such an environment.
(2) in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the Central Plains, the temperature is relatively low in winter, and there is still a long freezing period in the Huang-Huai region. You can consider using heating rods to warm the winter, or you can prepare a plastic box covered with moist soil or mixed sand. Bury the turtles and spray water every few days to keep them moist.
(3) in the southeast, southwest and south, the temperature in winter is not very low, and the temperature is basically between 5 and 15 ℃. Turtles can be raised indoors and turtles generally do not freeze to death.
2. Water level
(1) the temperature is higher than 10 degrees: the water level in the tank can retain the normal water level, that is, twice the height of the turtle.
(2) the temperature is below 10 degrees: the water level in the tank should be kept at 2-3 cm. If it is a normal water level, if the temperature suddenly drops beyond the cold tolerance limit of the tortoise, it may freeze to death; if the turtle is buried in sand, spray water every few days to keep it moist.
3. Food
Normal feeding in winter. Turtle feed is relatively wide, mainly animal feed, plant feed and mixed feed. Animal feed can be animal offal pig blood, viscera, earthworms, yellow powder insects, small fish and shrimp, mussel shellfish, etc., plant feed can be bean cake, peanut cake, corn, sorghum, wheat and so on.
