What kind of food do earthworms like to eat?

Earthworms are saprophytic animals that feed on decaying plants or other organic matter. Swallow soil and sand to obtain organic matter.

Second, how to raise earthworms?

1. Culture bed

According to the actual situation of the culture site, choose parallel or perpendicular to the length of the greenhouse to lay the culture bed. Generally, the width of the culture bed is controlled at 1.2m, the thickness is about 25cm, the humidity of the base material is maintained at 60% to 70%, and attention is paid to the reasonable arrangement of operation channels and the excavation of drainage ditches.

two。 Seed and seedling

Earthworm seedlings which are more suitable for local environmental conditions or have special uses are generally selected for breeding, such as "Taiping 2" or "Beixing 2". The input amount of earthworm seedlings is 0.5~2kg/m2.

3. Feed

Earthworms consume a large amount of food and produce a large amount of earthworm dung at the same time. Therefore, sufficient feed must be replenished in time and earthworm feces must be removed regularly. When it is observed that the surface feed of the earthworm culture bed is dung, a thick layer of new feed of 5~10cm can be fed on it, so that the earthworms can feed, perch and move in the new feed layer, and turn the culture bed regularly to ensure that the feed is completely eaten by the earthworms and improve the air permeability of the culture bed.

The amount of feed has a great relationship with temperature. The specific amount of feed is determined according to the principle of more feed at suitable temperature (20 ℃), less feed at high temperature (25 ℃) and less feed at low temperature (15 ℃).

4. Administration and Management

If the protected vegetable field is in a plastic greenhouse, earthworm culture is greatly affected by natural climate change, so environmental control must be done well.

The suitable temperature for earthworm culture is 17-28 ℃. When the summer weather is hot, cooling measures must be taken.
