What is the difference between a black-necked turtle and a grass turtle?

The black turtle is large in size, with a longitudinal edge on its back nail and no lateral edge. The kiss protrudes slightly above the upper beak and cuts obliquely to the inside and below. The armour bridge is wide, brown or dark brown, which is quite different from the ventral armour; the grass turtle is long oval, the dorsal nail is slightly raised, has three longitudinal edges, and the ridge edge is obvious. The top of the head is black and olive, the front skin is smooth, and the neck, limbs and exposed skin are grayish black or black olive.

1. Food

Turtles eat relatively miscellaneous food, usually green vegetables, meat can, of course, fish is more popular with turtles, but the cost is also relatively high, so for friends who are usually busy and do not have much budget, it will be more cost-effective to buy special turtle feed in the market.

2. Container

Turtles also need special containers to facilitate their daily activities. It is best to buy 30-55 wide glass water tanks so that their living habits can be observed more clearly. For some young turtles, flat-bottomed containers will be more suitable.

3. Water quantity

We all know that turtles can't grow without water, so how much water should be added to the container when raising? In fact, adding water to the container for raising turtles is a very skillful job. The water can be neither too deep nor too little. It is best to take the shell that has not passed it, so it is convenient for it to swim and crawl in it. There is another point to pay attention to. The water in the container must be changed regularly, which can prevent the growth of some bacteria.

4. Lighting

We should know the importance of light to us, the longevity of turtles is also inseparable from light, if the lack of light, turtles are prone to a variety of diseases in their growth, appropriate light can enable turtles to supplement calcium and better growth and development.

In addition, turtles spend the winter by hibernating. They begin to hibernate at less than 15 ℃ and start feeding when the temperature rises above 16 ℃. Under normal circumstances, as long as the water temperature is not lower than 4 ℃, you can survive the winter safely.
