Sichuan: edible mushrooms and other agricultural products are supplied to Macao
Recently, the Sichuan entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and the Guangdong Zhuhai entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau held the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation on promoting the supply of Sichuan Food and Agricultural products to Australia in Chengdu. The signing of the contract marks the formal establishment of the inspection and quarantine supervision and release model for food and agricultural products in Macao, which is "inspection and quarantine of places of origin and port through release" between Sichuan and Zhuhai.
In 2015, Sichuan exported 835.9 tons of Macao spirits, frozen pork, instant vermicelli, frozen edible fungi and other food and agricultural products, totaling US $9.535 million. After the signing of the agreement, the supply of vegetables from Sichuan to Macao is expected to increase from about 5 tons per day to 10 to 20 tons per day. This is undoubtedly opening up a new market for the export of edible mushroom products in Sichuan.
Sichuan Province is an important edible mushroom producing area in China, with various climate types, rich germplasm resources and annual balanced production. The main edible mushroom varieties are Agaricus bisporus, Ji mushroom, Pleurotus ostreatus, Lentinus edodes, tea tree mushroom, Flammulina velutipes, Coprinus comatus, Pleurotus eryngii, hairy fungus and Tremella fuciformis, which can meet the diversified needs of the market. In order to ensure the quality of vegetables supplied to Macao, 28 vegetable production bases have been selected in Sichuan as alternative bases for cooperation in vegetable supply projects to Macao.
