Money tortoise is a precious animal resource, which is full of treasures. It is of great significance and economic value in medicine, ornamental, craft production, food and modern scientific research. So, how to raise the little money tortoise?

The money tortoise is a national second-class key protected wild animal, that is to say, it is a legal protected animal. If it is raised, it must go to the local fishery administrative department (such as the Fisheries Bureau) to apply for a "permit for domestication and breeding of aquatic wild animals" or jointly operate with a large turtle farm, otherwise it will be illegal.

First, build a juvenile turtle pond

The juvenile turtle pond should be built in a room with better light, and a small cement pool is better. The size of the juvenile turtle pond is 2~3m2, the depth of the pond is 30~40cm, the bottom of the pond is inclined to the south, and the depth of water injection is 10~20cm. The bottom of the north end of the pond should be out of the water or built with land, so that the turtles can come ashore to eat.

2. Stocking density

We should pay attention to the stocking density, generally about 30 juvenile turtles per square meter of water surface.

3. Feed feeding

The turtle feed should be mainly small fish and shrimp, and the forehead sword of the shrimp should be pinched off when feeding, so as not to stab the turtle's esophagus. In addition, earthworms, insects, and lean meat can also be fed. Put the feed on the land to make the turtles climb ashore to eat, feed once or twice a day, half an hour after each feeding, remove the leftover feed. At this time, we should pay attention to: if there are a lot of leftovers, it means that there are too many materials, so we should reduce them next time; if there are no leftovers, we should increase them appropriately next time; if we find that there are only a little leftovers on the feed table, it means that the amount of feed is just right.

4. Keep the water quality good

Young turtles live in water most of the time, and the quality of water quality is very important to its growth. Generally speaking, the pool water is light green. Once you find that the water is green or smelly, you should change the water in time. When changing water, first draw out the dirty water from the bottom of the pool, and then add isothermal and equal amount of clean water. The amount of water exchange is generally controlled at 1x3pm / 2of the total amount of water; if the pool has a strong smell, you can draw out all the old water, scrub the pool clean, add new water and put back the young turtles. Must pay attention when changing water, can not directly add well water or tap water, it is best to build a storage tank, into the isothermal water after drying.

5. Overwintering

After a period of raising young turtles, as the weather enters the autumn and winter season, the temperature decreases gradually, and the young turtles no longer eat and prepare for hibernation. At this time, the overwintering work of young turtles should be considered. The money tortoise is not as resistant to low temperature as the tortoise, so it must be arranged to spend the winter indoors. Choose a house with good heat preservation effect. When the temperature is about 15 ℃, move the turtle indoors and put it in a washbasin or other container, about 80 turtles per square meter, and the depth of water is about 10cm. As long as you can keep the room temperature between 5-10 ℃ throughout the winter, and there is no drastic change, the little turtle can generally survive the winter safely. During the overwintering period, it should be checked every 5-7 days to prevent the young turtles from drying to death after the loss of water in the basin.

If the breeding scale is large, a pond can be built indoors for money turtles to survive the winter. The water depth in the pond is about 0.5m, and the bottom of the pond is 20cm thick. Other methods are the same as those of overwintering in the basin.
