Many people choose breeding industry, sheep raising is one of the more popular projects. Because sheep have a certain market value, and tolerance coarse feed, easy to manage. But for beginners, everything doesn't seem so easy. What should I pay attention to when building a sheepfold for beginners?

I. What should I pay attention to when building a sheepfold for beginners?

1. Selection of sheep house location

Sheep house building should be selected in the center of the grassland, near the water source, convenient transportation, open terrain, warm in winter and cool in summer, good drainage, a slight slope of the south slope level ground is good.

2. Area of sheep house

The area of sheep house can be designed according to the breeding scale, too large area causes waste, too small is not conducive to large-scale production. Generally, the area of each sheep house is calculated by 1 square meter, and each ram and ewe is calculated by 2 square meters. The ram and ewe houses shall be built separately. The lambing house can be calculated by 20% of the basic ewe. The sports field area is generally 2~2.5 times of the sheep house area. Double row pens can be built when the number of sheep is large and the field width is wide. Single row pens can be built when the number of sheep is small or the field width is less than 6m. Single row pens can be built according to half of the double row size.

3. Feeding trough and straw rack of sheep house

Used for feeding water and salt, can be set separately, can also be combined into a combined straw rack. It is most practical to nail the movable long trough frame with wooden boards. Generally, the trough is 2m long, 20cm high, 35cm wide at the top and 30cm wide at the bottom. The placement position is generally placed outside the sheep house so that the sheep feet do not step into the material frame and do not make the material fall on the sheep body.

4. Disinfection of sheep houses

Sheep house disinfection is relatively simple, every 10 days routine disinfection can also be, there are many kinds of disinfectant choice, the general choice of disinfectant varieties are iodine tincture, bleaching powder, polyvitamin copper iodine, lysol, sodium hydroxide, alcohol, lime milk.

Second, novice sheep raising precautions

Sheep are very clean and like a dry environment.

Sheep generally do not eat grass stained with sheep dung or urine, or grass with peculiar smell. Feed sheep trough should be designed to avoid sheep into the trough inside random stampede excrement urinating. Sheep are particularly fond of dryness, and in wet conditions they can develop foot rot and parasites. This requires the sheep house to be built in the right place.

Sheep are afraid of heat but not cold.

Because sheep hair is thicker, the body heat dissipation is not good, in the hot summer, the hotter the easier it is to pile up, that is, we sheep farmers often say "tie the nest", causing sheep heatstroke. So the shed must be shaded and ventilated.

3. Sheep are timid and afraid of fright

Sheep are not easy to fatten after being frightened. During the Spring Festival, sheep farmers try not to set off earth-shaking fireworks. Do not suddenly hit sheep at ordinary times, or suddenly shout to frighten and stimulate sheep, thinking that sheep "fry" is fun. Many people may not believe it, but this is definitely something that should be noted.
