Mutton is one of the healthy meats that we often eat in our life. It has certain nutritional value and is loved by consumers. Many farmers choose to raise sheep, in order to improve the reproduction rate, will involve the sheep reserved for breeding, namely breeding sheep. How much does that sheep cost? What are the feeding points?

How much does a sheep cost?

There are many sheep breeds, such as general meat goat breeds Boer goat, Nanjiang yellow sheep, Chengdu Ma sheep, Matou goat, Leizhou goat, Huanghuai goat, Longlin goat, Chengde hornless goat, Lushan "corbel" goat, Guizhou white goat and so on. The price difference of different breeds of sheep is relatively large, and the price will also be affected by factors such as origin, market price, specifications of breeding sheep, etc. It is suggested that we communicate directly with breeding places.

What are the key points of breeding sheep?

1. Adopt appropriate breeding methods

It is necessary to combine the local climate characteristics, nearby pasture resources and the actual feeding situation of the field to select appropriate feeding methods and do a good job in feeding by stages. In spring and winter, the temperature is low, and the pasture is scarce, and the supply is seriously insufficient. It is not suitable for grazing and feeding during this period. Therefore, the feeding method should be adopted at this stage to provide sufficient nutrition for the breeding sheep. Feed forage every morning and evening, but also in fine weather for appropriate grazing, the main purpose is to increase the amount of exercise of breeding sheep, in order to enhance physical fitness, maintain good fertility; in the grass turning green season can choose to house feeding and grazing feeding mode, grazing in the morning and afternoon, noon and evening rest, after grazing to pay attention to supplementary feeding, so that it can absorb comprehensive and adequate nutrition. In the season with abundant forage and good climate, complete grazing can be selected to reduce the amount of supplementary feed to reduce production costs. However, even if this is the case, appropriate supplementary feeding should be carried out at night rest according to the different stages of mutton sheep.

2. Reasonable grouping

Breeding sheep at different physiological stages should be raised in groups. According to production requirements, breeding sheep can be divided into male sheep group, empty ewe group, pregnant ewe group, nursing ewe group and reserve ewe group. In order to facilitate management, appropriate feed can be provided according to the nutritional requirements of breeding sheep at different physiological stages, which can also avoid the phenomenon of mismatching and fighting in breeding production, and effectively maintain the order of the group.

3. Provide feed scientifically and reasonably

The feed for feeding meat breeding sheep requires comprehensive nutrition and rich variety, mainly forage and concentrate, and at the same time, silage is mainly processed from corn and other crop straws or pastures, hay is dry straw or dry pasture, and concentrate can be prepared by using special premix for breeding sheep or by processing itself. According to the different physiological stages of meat breeding sheep, feed should be provided scientifically and reasonably. Generally, empty ewes, reserve ewes and ewes in early pregnancy can use the same feed formula, and lactating ewes and pregnant ewes can use the same feed formula. The amount of concentrate supplied should be based on the weight of the sheep. Forage was fed to rams 12kg/day, to pregnant ewes 10kg/day and to reserve ewes 8kg/day. When feeding silage, it should be noted that ram should not exceed 1.5 kg, empty pregnant ewes, ewes with lambs and reserve ewes should not exceed 1kg. Special attention should be paid to the feed quality of breeding sheep. Do not feed mildewed or poor quality feed, otherwise it will affect the reproductive performance of breeding sheep. It brings serious economic losses to breeding production. While ensuring feed supply, attention should be paid to ensuring that meat breeding sheep can drink enough water.
