After the egg is hatched, the chicken will break out of its shell, and the first week after it comes out of the shell is a very important period for breeding. Good feeding management plays a decisive role in the survival rate of chicks, so how to raise shelled chicks in the first week?

I. Feed

1. Feed the chicks with fortified pellet feed. Each chicken is fed with 1g feed every 2-3 hours. After mixing with moisture, the feed is sprinkled evenly on the plate.

2. The feeding method starts to use the feed trough on the 4th day. Matters needing attention after using the feed trough: adjust the height of the seasoning board in time to facilitate the chicks to eat; feed 2-4 times a day, at least 3-4 times, to ensure that each chicken takes in enough feed and needs to be fed evenly when turning on the light. Uneven feeding can easily lead to poor development of individual chickens.

Second, drinking water

1. The first drink of the chick: the earlier the first drink, the better, because the chick consumes a lot of water after coming out of its shell. According to the study, the body water consumption is 8% after 24 hours of hatching and 15% after 48 hours. Therefore, early drinking water can promote intestinal peristalsis, absorb residual yolk, eliminate feces, increase appetite, benefit feed absorption, and improve the survival rate of chicks.

2. Supplement nutrients: add 3% glucose to the water to supplement energy, and add water-soluble vitamins to enhance the disease resistance of chicks. Adding antibiotics to the water the second day after the first drink can improve the survival rate and promote the growth of chicks.

3. According to the actual conditions, use the drinking fountain in the first 3-7 days, change the water 4-6 times a day, and then gradually transition to the use of automatic drinking pipes to prohibit the phenomenon of water cut-off.

4. Cleaning and disinfecting drinking fountains should be cleaned once a day, and drinking water pipes should be washed and disinfected once a month.

Third, lighting

The effect of light on the growth of chicks is not direct, but indirectly with the help of the effect on the feed intake of chicks, and the light intensity should be more than 20 lux. 60W incandescent lamp can be used in the first 7 days, keep the light 24 hours a day for 1-3 days, and the light time will be reduced by 1 hour every day from the 4th day.

4. Temperature

1. The general principle of temperature control of chicks: the temperature of chicks in the first 3 days is generally controlled at 35-37 ℃. If the chicks are physically weak, the temperature can be increased by about 1 ℃, and the temperature is controlled at 34-36 ℃ in 4-7 days. Keeping the temperature suitable, uniform and stable is very important to the health, growth and development of chicks, and is the key to raising chicks. First of all, make sure that the temperature in the henhouse is uniform and the difference is no more than 1 ℃. Uneven temperature directly results in uneven development and uneven physique of chicks, which increases the difficulty of raising chicks; secondly, keep the chicks stable and keep the temperature down no more than 1 ℃ per day. It is best to work out a detailed daily temperature control plan according to the target temperature at the end of brooding. For example, the target temperature for 42 days is 23 ℃, which can be reduced by 1 ℃ every 3 days during the breeding period, so as to achieve the goal of smooth de-heating. When raising chicks, it should also be combined with "watching the chicks and warming them."

2. The humidity should be kept at 40% Mel 60%. If the humidity is too low, the chicks are easy to be dehydrated, and the increase of dust in the air is easy to damage the respiratory mucosa of chicks and induce respiratory tract diseases. In the case of high temperature and low humidity, we can increase the humidity and reduce the temperature by means of chicken disinfection, and purify the environment in the house at the same time; in the case of high temperature and high humidity, we can increase the ventilation volume while increasing the temperature in the house.

V. ventilation

1. The purpose of ventilation is to ensure adequate oxygen content in the chicken house (19.6%); to adjust the temperature to remove excess heat from the chicken body; to discharge moisture; to reduce dust in the house; and to reduce the accumulation of harmful gases in the house, such as ammonia and carbon dioxide.

2. The ventilation method in the early stage of brooding is mainly heat preservation and ventilation, and the purpose of ventilation is for proper ventilation; during the day, the external temperature is high and the activity of chicks is large, which can appropriately increase ventilation, while at night, the external temperature is low and the activity of chickens is small. Ventilation should be reduced; in the first 7 days, the wind speed and ventilation are not easy to be too large, so it is appropriate for people to feel warm and comfortable.

At the end of one week, it is necessary to detect the weight of chickens and carry out different feeding management plans for abnormal individuals, which can promote the overall uniform development of chickens, promote the synchronization of body weight and sexual maturity, and achieve a good production level.
