Zhangye Shandan County Quality Guarantee Promotion Seed Potato Promoting Potato Industry Development

Shandan County is a major potato planting county in Hexi area of our province. There are 5 potato seed potato enterprises in the county, among which 2 provincial certification enterprises are Gansu Tianrun Potato Industry Co., Ltd., which undertake the task of basic potato breeding and original seed production, and are also the original seed subsidy project unit. It focuses on the production of Atlantic and Kexin series varieties, with 40 million micro-potatoes and more than 6000 tons of original varieties in stock at the end of 2015. In order to enhance the development vitality of enterprises, the "potato virus-free seed potato full coverage project" was comprehensively implemented to promote the development of potato industry. Effective measures have been taken and remarkable results have been achieved. First, the basic seed and seedling breeding should be fixed, responsible and quantitative, linked to performance, stimulate vitality, and ensure quantity on the basis of improving breeding quality; second, micro-potato breeding summer net room winter greenhouse, strict implementation of technical operation rules, personal management, graded harvest, several grains bagging, label storage; the third is to consolidate the original seed breeding base, develop improved seed production areas, and expand the area of radiation commodity orders. Up to now, about 5 kinds of potatoes have signed (or reached) booking sales agreements in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, Gansu and other neighboring provinces. The remaining five kinds of potatoes (5 million mini potatoes and 1200 tons of original potatoes) will be sold before and after the Spring Festival.
