In the process of raising poultry, feed is always the most expensive item in the cost of raising poultry, and many people have the inherent impression that the more they eat, the more they grow, the higher the price, which is not necessarily. How can duck feeding save money and increase income? How can ducks lay more eggs? These three tips can be a great help!

First, how to save money and increase income by feeding ducks

1. Look at the weight

When the laying rate of ducks reaches 80% or more, but the weight of ducks becomes lighter and lighter, they should be properly fed with animal feed to supplement the energy consumed by egg production.

If the duck gains weight and gets fatter and fatter, but the laying rate remains at about 80%, it shows that the duck has been overnourished, affecting the laying rate. At this time, it is necessary to increase roughage and green feed, or by controlling its feed intake. Reduce excessive intake of nutrients.

2. Look at the feces

If the duck's feces show a long strip, the surface looks shiny, and the texture gently poked with the feet is soft, but it can be divided into sections, which means that the fine, coarse and green materials are reasonably matched during feeding, and there is no need to increase or decrease the feeding.

If the duck's feces are black in color, feel the feces strong with the feet gently, and become granular after disconnection, which means that the amount of concentrate feed fed is too much, and there is a lack of nutrition intake of green feed, which leads to the inability of ducks to absorb and digest normally. At this time, concentrate feeding should be reduced and the amount of green feed should be increased.

3. Look at egg laying

If the duck egg is very small, it means that the duck lacks nutrition and needs to increase the intake of protein feed such as bean cake, peanut cake and fish meal, and the proportion of crude protein in the diet should be increased during feeding, accounting for at least 20% of the total diet.

If the eggshell of a duck egg becomes thinner and brittle with trachoma, the surface of the eggshell feels rough, or even a soft shell, it shows that the nutrients of the feed are insufficient, especially calcium or vitamin D is quite deficient. Minerals such as bone powder, shell powder, lime powder and vitamin D should be added to the feed.

Second, how to make ducks lay more eggs

1. Spring solarization

The spring temperature is suitable, the green fodder is abundant, the duck flock is also relatively active, the duck flock can go out early and return late, prolong the stocking time as far as possible, and let the ducks forage independently. Outdoor stocking should adhere to the principle of "fast on an empty stomach, slow on a full stomach, more in the morning and less in the afternoon".

2. Cool summer

The summer weather is hot, ducks have the possibility of heatstroke, at this time stocking should follow the principle of "catching breakfast and hiding in the middle". When it is hottest at noon, drive the duck to enjoy the cool in the shade of the tree. The muggy weather at night will make the duck restless and, in severe cases, sing all night long, so you can drive the hot duck into the pool to avoid the summer. At this time, there are fewer ducks, eat less and feed more, and increase the proportion of green fodder.

3. Autumn control

The autumn weather is cool and suitable, and the animal feed in the water is rich, which can stimulate the appetite of ducks, so it is necessary to prevent duck fat from affecting egg production. The way to control the fat of ducks is: first, do not let ducks eat too much, generally 70% full is appropriate. Second, grazing should choose the mixed water area with less aquatic animals and plants. The third is to prolong the grazing time and drive frequently to increase the activity of ducks.

4. Winter drag

In late autumn, the egg production of ducks gradually decreases, and the eggshells begin to become thinner. In order to restore the duck's egg production, artificial molting can be taken to help ducks lay eggs. The specific method of operation is to pull off the large hair of the duck's wings and tail, feed more concentrate feed and replenish a lot of nutrition; at the same time, the feathers of the back and chest will fall off naturally at this time, and after about 20 days, the duck will resume laying eggs.

Ducks are docile and timid. As long as there are more suitable feeding conditions, it is relatively easy to raise them, and farmers can breed them according to their own conditions.
