Radix Isatidis, commonly used aliases: indigo root, blue indigo root, Isatis root, is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine. The output is average in all parts of China. Radix Isatidis is divided into Radix Isatidis and Radix Isatidis, which is derived from the roots of cruciferous plants Isatis indigotica and Isatis indigotica, while Radix Isatidis is the rhizome and root of Isatidae. It has the effect of clearing heat and detoxification, cooling blood and detumescence, and promoting pharynx.

Radix Isatidis is not suitable for planting in low-temperature stagnant water, and it is easy to rot after water stains. In order to reduce the occurrence of diseases and insect pests, it is appropriate to cultivate ridges with Gramineae and Leguminosae, such as fertile soil.

Soil preparation and fertilization

Banlan root deep-rooted plants, 667 square meters of rotten organic fertilizer 43.5 cubic meters. Mash it fine before application, and then spread it evenly on the ground. Ploughing 20 to 30 centimeters deep, raking fine and leveling to make a flat bed 1 meter wide. Water thoroughly when the ground is dry, and then sow when the topsoil is slightly dry and loose.

Sowing seeds

Spring sowing is divided into spring sowing and summer sowing, spring sowing before and after the Qingming Festival, no later than the Valley Rain Festival. Summer sowing comes before and after Grain in Beard. When sowing in the whole border, draw a ditch 1.5 cm deep according to the row spacing of 20 cm, spread the seeds evenly into the ditch, then cover the soil, press flat, slightly suppress, and water immediately. Generally 7 days after 10 days of emergence, 667 square meters with 1.5 kilograms. In some producing areas, the intercropping of blue and food crops or vegetables can make full use of the land and increase income.

Field management

Keep the soil moist after sowing, set the seedling when the seedling height is 6cm or 10cm (you can also fix the seedling at one time, or first thinning the seedling, and then fix the seedling), remove the weak and stay strong, such as transplanting in time to make up for the lack of seedlings. The focus of management is to weed in the middle ploughing, shallow hoeing after the seedlings are unearthed, preventing crushing of the seedlings, loosening the soil and weeding after fixing the seedlings, keeping the surface loose and keeping weeds free. Those who mainly harvest big green leaves should be fertilized three times a year. After the first topdressing, 667 square meters are topdressing 10 kilograms of urea, which are applied in trenches between rows and watered in case of drought. The second and third times are all applied immediately after the leaves are harvested. Mainly to harvest plate blue root, do not cut leaves during the peak growth period, less nitrogen fertilizer can be applied 30kg to 40kg cake fertilizer.

Management of farming

The plum blue sown in spring cannot blossom and bear seeds in that year. In order to harvest seeds, it must be subjected to low temperature. There are the following two methods: first, when planing and harvesting Radix Isatidis in late October, select the disease-free and stout main root, transplant it to the seed nursery to strengthen management, cover horse dung to protect against the cold in November, and mature seeds from the end of May to early June of the following year. Select full and full seeds for next year's reproduction. Second, the sunny and fertile plots were selected for sowing in August, and the height of the seedlings could reach about 30 cm in that year. Fully fertilize and water the seedlings before winter to promote the growth of the seedlings. After turning green in the second year, the seedlings are divided into two stages, and the seedlings are retained according to the row spacing of 30cm to 40cm. It blossoms in the middle and late April, and seeds can be harvested from May to June. Where the seeds have been collected, the roots of Banlan should no longer be used for medicinal purposes.

Pest control

The main disease of Radix Isatidis is downy mildew. The disease harms the leaves, the back of the leaves produce white or grayish-white mildew at the onset of the disease, there is no obvious disease spot, the leaf sheath turns brown or even withered when the disease is serious. The methods of prevention and control are mainly agricultural control, reasonable close planting, reducing soil moisture; reasonable rotation with gramineous crops when arranging stubble; diseased plants are found and pulled out in time at the initial stage of the disease. It can also be used for prevention and treatment. At the initial stage of the disease, 1 ∶ 1 ∶ Bordeaux solution is sprayed. Spray evenly on the leaf surface and back, once every 7 days for 3 days; it can also be sprayed with 65% Dysen zinc wettable powder 500 times. The main pest harming Radix Isatidis is Pieris rapae, which is sprayed 800 times by spraying 90% trichlorfon in the larval stage.

Harvest and processing

Those who mainly harvest green leaves can cut 2-3 crops a year. The first crop is in the vigorous growing season before and after Grain in Beard, the second crop is in front of the Beginning of Autumn, and the third crop is between the End of Heat and White Dew. The leaves should be harvested on a sunny day and dried in the sun immediately. The green ones are of good quality and should be dried in time in case of overcast and rain. Those who mainly harvest the blue root, do not cut the leaves or only cut the leaves once during the growing period, and planing when the aboveground part withered in late October to avoid digging off the main root. The planed Radix Isatidis is dried to 60 or 70% dry, remove the soil, tie it into small handfuls, and then dry it until it is fully dry.
