The finished product is oval, circular or irregular sheet. The section is pale gray to grayish white, and grayish white punctate or short-line vascular bundles can be seen. Crispy, easy to break, slightly horny section. Qi slightly, taste slightly astringent, slightly numb tongue feeling.
2. Ginger Pinellia ternata: Take clean Pinellia ternata, separate the size, soak and float, change the water 2~3 times a day, until foaming (about 7 days), add alum (4kg alum for every 100kg of Pinellia ternata) to dissolve after changing the water, soak for 3 days, discard the alum water, soak for another 7 days, gently stir and change the water twice a day, and then add 4kg crushed alum to dissolve. adding ginger water (taking fresh ginger slices 8kg, decocting in water twice, the first time for 2 hours, the second time for 1 hour, combining decoctions, and cooling) into Pinellia ternata, soaking in alum ginger water for another 7 days, washing with water, cutting open the mouth to taste no spicy sensation, taking out and placing into a stainless steel pot, adding the rest of alum and fresh ginger, boiling for about 3 hours with strong fire first, then with slow fire, until no white heart is inside and outside, adding a small amount of water, taking out, drying until 70 percent dry, then suffocating for 3 days, and drying in the shade. 12.5kg alum and 10kg fresh ginger were used for every 100kg of pure pinellia ternata. Pinellia ternata is flaky, irregular granular or spherical. The surface is brown to tan. Section yellowish brown, often with horny luster. Hard and crisp. Gas slightly fragrant, taste light, slightly numb tongue feeling, chewing slightly sticky teeth.
3. Pinellia ternata: soak Pinellia ternata for 10 - 12 days, gently stir and changing water twice a day until there is no dry core, soaking in alum wat for 3 days, removing alum water, soaking in water for 2 days, adding liquorice and lime solution,(Take 20kg licorice root, add water to boil twice, combine decoctions, pour into lime solution made of appropriate amount of water) soak, stir 1~2 times a day, and keep pH value above 12.0, until taste slightly numb tongue, cut section is uniform yellow degree, take out, wash, dry in the shade or dry at low temperature. For every 100kg of Pinellia ternata, licorice root 20kg, alum 2 kg and quicklime 30kg were used. The product is spherical or broken into irregular particles. The surface is yellowish white, yellow or brown. Crispy or hard brittle, yellow or yellowish section, particles are slightly hard brittle. The gas is slight, the taste is light and slightly sweet, and the tongue is slightly numb.
