Fangfeng, also known as "West Fangfeng", is mainly produced in central Inner Mongolia and northern Hebei, Shaanxi, Shanxi and other places, its surface color is lighter, showing gray-yellow-white, long and thin, some see branches, the top hair must be more, but the ring pattern is less than Guan Fangfeng, the quality is harder, not as soft and moist as Guan Fangfeng. The heart of chrysanthemum is not as obvious as that of Fangfeng.

Shuifang Fangfeng, also known as "Shuishui Fangfeng", is mainly produced in Henan Lingbao, Lushi, Xingyang, southern Shaanxi and Gansu Dinger, Tianshui and other places. Its root strip is thin and short, long 10~15cm, diameter 0.3~0.6cm, the upper thick and lower fine conical, little or no ring, multi-branched, light flesh, with wood.
