In clinical practice, it mainly uses three kinds of processed products, namely, raw Polygala, licorice processed Polygala and honey-fried Polygala. The processing methods vary from place to place, but generally use pharmacopoeia methods. Let's take a look at the processing methods of Polygala.

The efficacy and function of Polygala tenuifolia

[Efficacy] tranquilize the mind, improve intelligence, eliminate phlegm and reduce swelling. It is used for insomnia, dreaminess, amnesia, palpitation, trance, expectoration, sore, swollen poison, breast swelling and pain caused by heart-kidney disharmony.

Common species of Polygala

1. Polygala tube: Polygala tube is cylindrical, hollow, not straight, 3~12 cm long, 0.3~1 cm in diameter, gray surface, or grayish yellow, all with dense and deep horizontal wrinkles, some with fine longitudinal lines and fine knob-like root marks, brittle and easy to break, yellow-white cross section, relatively flat, slightly grassy, bitter and slightly spicy, with prickly throat feeling.

2, Polygala meat: Polygala meat has been broken, thin meat, less horizontal wrinkles.

3. Polygala stick: Polygala stick is also known as Polygala stem and Polygala bone, which is small and has a hard light yellow wood core in the middle.

Processing method of Radix Polygalae

1. Cleaning: remove impurities, wash slightly, moisten thoroughly, and care.

2. Cutting: Wash slightly, moisten thoroughly, cut into sections and dry.

3, licorice system: take licorice, add appropriate amount of decoction, remove residue, add net polygala, simmer until the soup is absorbed, take out, dry, each polygala 100 kg, licorice 6 kg.

4. Honey preparation: Take roasted Polygala root and a little refined honey and boiling water, mix well, stew slightly, fry with slow fire in the pot until it does not stick to hands, take it out, cool it, 100 kg of Polygala root, 20 kg of refined honey.

5. Cinnabar system: After wetting the prepared Polygala with water, sprinkle cinnabar fine powder, mix well and dry it. For each Polygala 100 kg, use cinnabar 2 kg.

6. Stir-frying: get Radix Polygalae soaked in licorice, stir-fry it dry with slow fire, or stir-fry it yellow.

7. Charcoal system: get Radix Polygalae soaked in licorice, fry it with low fire until it is brownish black or completely black, sprinkle water slightly, dry it, and cool it.

8. Steaming: Take raw Polygala tenuifolia and extract impurities, add 5% coarse powder licorice, add appropriate amount of water to steam juice twice, take licorice juice to soak and absorb Polygala tenuifolia meat until it is completely absorbed, put it into a steamer and steam it with strong fire for about 2 hours, steam it thoroughly, and take it out and dry it.

9. bran preparation: first remove the bran into the pot, when the bran smokes, pour in the radix polygalae soaked in licorice, stir-fry with medium and large until the surface of the radix polygalae is slightly scorched, take it out, remove the bran, cool it, 500g of each radix polygalae, 60- 90g of bran.
