Geographical environment

Wild heavy buildings grow in valleys, streams and shady wetlands under broad-leaved forests at an altitude of 700m to 1100m.

Soil condition

Heavy buildings are most suitable to grow in permeable slightly acidic humus or fertile sand, but cannot grow in alkaline soil or clay, and viscous, stagnant and consolidated soils are not suitable for planting.

Moisture condition

Heavy buildings like cool, wet, moderate moisture environment, afraid of both drought and stagnant water, soil water content is too low, easy to cause water loss of stems and leaves, root system dry and die, while too high is prone to diseases and insect pests, roots rot.

Temperature condition

The plant of Rhizoma thunbergii is cold-tolerant and cold-free. The temperature from late February to early March is 5 ℃, and even the lowest temperature is 2 ℃. When the temperature is 1: 2 ℃, the suitable temperature for seed germination, root growth and terminal bud germination is 18 ℃ ~ 20 ℃, 20 ℃ for emergence, 16 ℃ ~ 20 ℃ for aboveground plant growth and 14 ℃ ~ 18 ℃ for underground rhizome growth.

Light condition

Chong Lou is a shade-loving plant, likes oblique or astigmatism, avoids strong light, and growth requires shading environment, strong light will wither leaves, generally seed germination and seedling stage require better shading, and two years before maturity, it is necessary to reduce shading and increase light, which is beneficial to the accumulation of secondary metabolites and dry matter.
