Moxa grass, also known as ice platform, curbing grass, fragrant wormwood, Artemisia argyi, moxibustion grass, medical grass, yellow grass, moxa, etc., Compositae Artemisia perennial herb or slightly semi-shrub-like plants, widely distributed, in addition to extremely arid and alpine areas, several throughout the country, born in low to medium altitude areas of wasteland, roadside riverside and hillsides and other places, let's take a look at moxa planting techniques!

Growth habit

Moxa grass is easy to reproduce and grow, has strong adaptability to climate and soil, and is resistant to cold and drought. Field edge, land, hillside and wasteland can be chosen as planting land, and neutral soil with deep soil layer, good soil permeability and rich organic matter is better. In order to save land resources, hills should be selected for rational layout.

Land selection and preparation

The site should have irrigation water conditions, there should be no domestic water and industrial water pollution nearby, the soil and air quality should meet the second national standards, and the water for production should meet the water quality standards for farmland irrigation. the soil should be free of toxic and harmful drug residues, human and animal faeces and domestic waste pollution, and should be tested regularly according to the structural characteristics of the soil layer of the planting land. Combined with soil preparation, 22.5-30.0 tons per hectare of soil fertilizer, which is fully mature and harmless, is evenly mixed and turned into the soil layer, and then ditches are repaired to be planted.

Reproduction method

Artemisia argyi mainly propagates asexually by rhizome ramets, but it can also be propagated by seeds. Generally, seed propagation is sowed in March, and rhizome propagation is carried out in November. The width of the border is about 1.5m. The middle and both sides of the border are high and low like the "fish back" type, so as to avoid stagnant water and cause diseases. Before sowing, it is necessary to apply sufficient base fertilizer. Generally, 4000 kg of rotten farm manure is applied per mu, deep ploughing and soil are fully blocked, and sufficient bottom water is watered once after the row.

Planting density

When the height of the seedlings is 5 cm 10 cm from February to March, when the ground is wet (preferably after rain or cloudy days), the seedlings separated from the stem base of the mother plant are planted according to the row spacing of 30 cm × 40 cm, and 3 seedlings per hole are compacted with soil. If it does not rain within 2-3 days after planting, drip water to preserve moisture.

Field management

After the planting survived, urea 90kg / ha was applied as seedling fertilizer when the seedling height was 30cm, sprinkled in rainy days and foliar sprayed in sunny days. Ploughing and weeding once in early April, with a depth of 15 cm. After harvesting in mid-June, Qi Ai turned over the garden to remove the remnant branches and leaves and remove the dense stem base and persistent roots, with a depth of 15 cm. In early November, farm manure, barnyard manure and cake manure were applied as base fertilizer. In dry season, foliar sprinkler irrigation with seedling height below 80cm, and flooding irrigation in the whole garden when seedling height is more than 80cm.

Harvest and processing

The leaves of Artemisia argyi are harvested in summer, cut the stems and branches with leaves on the ground before blooming, remove impurities and dead leaves, spread them out in the sun to five or sixty thousand, tie them into small handfuls, then spread them in the sun to dry feet, tie them into bundles, or press them into large rectangular bundles with a winch, secure them with straw ropes and store them in a dry place to protect against moisture and mildew. The goods are dry, fledgling, multi-leaf, small branches, turquoise, fragrance, bitter taste, no sediment, no impurities, no mildew.
