Pine pollen is the male germ cell (sperm cell) of Pinus massoniana, Pinus tabulaeformis and other Pinus tabulaeformis, usually called pollen. Mature pollen completes the process of pollination and fertilization by wind and airflow, which not only contains the genetic information of life, but also contains all the nutrients needed for human life and longevity. Let's take a look at the collection technology of pine pollen.

Collection time of pine pollen

The florescence of Pinus massoniana and Pinus tabulaeformis in China was postponed from south to north, about March in Yunnan, mid-April in the west of Henan and about June in the northeast. In the same area, the flowering stage was also delayed with the increase of altitude. For example, in Songxian and Luanchuan in the west of Henan Province, the flowering stage of Zhongshan at an altitude of more than 1000 meters was 7-10 days later than that of the low mountains. Moreover, the florescence of different years in the same place may differ by about 10 days due to the amount of precipitation, the level of temperature and other factors. In an area, the collection time of pine pollen usually lasts only 10 to 15 days. Therefore, we must observe diligently and pay close attention to the growth of male spikes in order to determine the suitable collection period of pine pollen. When the color of the floret on most spikes changes from green to yellow, it should be picked.

Flower panicle selection of Pine Pollen

1. The mature flower spike is yellowish, the flower grain is slightly loose, the flower grain is gently twisted by hand, there is basically no serous, and can scatter yellow pollen, this kind of flower ear is the most suitable for picking, and the flour yield is about 89.9%.

2. The immature flower spikes turn green in color, and the hand-twisted flower grains are hard and out of slurry, and there is no powder after drying. And not easy to dry, easy to mildew.

3. The over-mature flower ear is yellow-white, the flower grain is loose, the pollen will be scattered during picking, and the pollen content is very low.

4. The withered flower spike is old yellow or dark brown, and most of the pollen has been scattered and has no value of collection.

Primary processing Technology of Pine Pollen

1. Drying site: pine pollen is the raw material of medicine and health food. the threshing and processing places of flower ears should choose clean, sunny, dry, flat cement floor, brick floor, etc., or the roof of rural bungalows can be used to cover it with a layer of plastic film. The processing place of flower spike can choose outdoor, generally 1 square meter field can dry 15-20 kg flower ear.

2. Drying method: the returned flowers should be spread evenly on the plastic film immediately, with a thickness of 10 to 20 centimeters, which is too thick and easy to be sour and moldy. Under the condition of sufficient light, natural ventilation and humidity, pine pollen will be scattered on the plastic film in about 3 days.

3. Rough sieving: the dried pollen is screened manually with a sieve of 60 to 80 mesh. The size of the sieve is 90 × 60 × 10 cm, the bottom of the sieve is nailed into a double layer, the bottom is a common plastic screen screen, and the top is a stainless steel screen with 60 mesh and 80 mesh. The sieve is covered with a large plastic bag tied at the bottom and shaken by two people, so that the pollen will fall into the plastic bag. The sieve is covered with cotton cloth to prevent the light pine pollen from drifting away with the wind. If possible, mechanical vibrating screen can be used, which can significantly improve the efficiency.

4. Pollen dehumidification: the moisture content of roughly screened pine pollen is generally 15-25%, which is easy to mildew and sour, and needs to be dehumidified in time. Sporadic processing, the coarse pollen in the plastic bag, and then evenly spread out to dry, the thickness of about 5 cm, pay attention to timely mixing, strictly prevent the wind from blowing away.

5. Fine screening: when the moisture content of pine pollen meets the requirements, the impurities will be removed by fine screening with a specified number of mesh. Generally speaking, the production of primary pine pollen needs to pass 200 mesh sieve, and the production of secondary pine pollen needs to pass 160 mesh fine screening. The finely screened site should be selected in a more airtight and clean room. Manual screening is used for a small amount of processing, and vibrating screening machine can be selected for large-scale production.

6. Scientific storage: the qualified pine pollen after fine screening is packed into a food-grade non-toxic polyethylene plastic bag with a specification of 40 × 100 cm. After a double layer, each bag can hold 1215kg of pine pollen. Place it for more than half an hour and squeeze out the air in the bag, then fasten the mouth of the bag and store it temporarily in a cool and dry room for sale. If it is to be stored for a long time, a constant temperature mechanical cold storage of 1-5 ℃ should be selected. After 3 years of storage, it can still maintain its appearance, color and biological activity.
