Ginseng is also known as ghost cover, god grass, soil essence, etc. It is a perennial herb belonging to ginseng of Araliaceae family. It likes cold and humid climate, avoids strong light and high temperature. The soil requirements are brown forest soil with good drainage, loose, fertile and deep humus layer or brown forest soil with mountain ash. It has extremely high cultivation value. Let's take a look at how ginseng seeds are planted.

seed sprouting

1. Germination site: ginseng seed germination site shall be selected in a place with leeward sun, high dry terrain and good drainage, topsoil shall be removed, drainage ditch shall be dug around, seed drying field shall be set aside, and windbreak shall be clamped.

2. Germination box selection: Place germination box or bed frame on a flat site, the box height is 40 cm, the width is 90~100 cm, the length depends on the number of seeds, and the surrounding of the box is strictly consolidated with soil.

3, germination matrix: germination matrix has pure sand, sand plus humus soil, pure humus soil, etc., generally pure sand is the best, pure humus soil as matrix easy to rot seeds, in order to prevent seed decay can be first disinfected with 1% sand weight of carbendazim.

4. Soaking and packing: In order to make the dry seeds fully absorb water before treatment, soak them in tap water for 1 day and night, take them out and dry them slightly, then mix them evenly with sieving matrix according to the proportion of 1 part of seeds and 3 parts of matrix, and put them into the box.

seeds were sown

1, sowing time: generally in April will have sprouted seeds sowing or summer sowing just harvested fresh seeds (water seeds), or autumn until the soil freezes before sowing. After sowing seeds are to go through summer, autumn, winter, to spring to emerge.

2. Sowing method: prepare the soil before sowing, 23~33 meters high, 126~133 cm wide, and 2~2.66 cm for the operation channel between the ridges. Sowing is adopted, 0.5 grams per square centimeter, covered with soil 3~4 cm after sowing, and the soil is often kept moist until early May.

seedling transplantation

1. Transplantation time: Ginseng can be planted in spring and autumn. Spring planting is usually carried out from late March to early April. When the soil thaws, it will be carried out before the bud sprouts. Late ginseng seedlings have sprouted and grow poorly after transplantation. Autumn planting is generally in early October to early November autumn planting, autumn part of the ground withered to the land before freezing can be carried out, the time can be later, not too early, too early ginseng seedlings did not fully enter dormancy, high ground temperature, injured hot rotten seedlings.

2. Treatment of ginseng seedlings: Divide ginseng seedlings into 3~4 grades according to size for planting and management respectively. Soak all ginseng seedlings in 1:1:100 Bordeaux solution for 10 minutes. Pay attention not to soak buds during soaking. After taking them out of the disinfectant, they can be planted after drying slightly. Or spray ginseng seedlings with 400 times of zinc solution to soak ginseng seedlings.

3. Transplanting method: Try to shorten the time when transplanting ginseng, do not make the ginseng plant lose water and become dry, plant ginseng with it, plant it obliquely at 30~40 degrees upward, the seedlings have grown for 2~3 years, and have formed shade and sunny surfaces. Do not reverse it when transplanting, otherwise it will affect the growth of seedlings. Cover half of river sand from the reed head to the shoulder before covering the soil, and then take a small amount of soil to press the root tip, and then use the transplanting plate to take soil to cover all seedlings tightly.

field management

1, loose soil: ginseng in spring after thawing should be loose bed surface topsoil, improve soil temperature, annual to 3~4 times loose soil weeding, time is generally in early April to early May, June, August, too wet and dry plots and abnormal rainfall years, increase the number of loose soil.

2. Shading: Ginseng is afraid of strong light exposure. When more than half of ginseng seedlings are unearthed from mid-April to early May, the shade can be made on the shelf. The specifications of the shade depend on the size of the ginseng age, local climatic conditions and terrain conditions.

3. Yang regulation: Ginseng should be inserted into the front eaves and side ground of the shade shed with fresh branches with leaves in midsummer, or the branches should be hung on the edge of the shade shed. It can also be hung in the front eaves with thin curtains made of straw and reed, so as to turn the strong light into sparse light and enter the shade shed.

4. Bud picking: Ginseng blossoms and bears fruit after 3 years of growth. In addition to keeping seeds, all buds are removed on sunny days around mid-May. 1/3~1/2 flower buds in the middle of inflorescence are thinned at the early stage of flowering.

5. Seed collection: Ginseng begins to blossom and bear fruit at the age of 3. Ginseng fruits are mature one after another. They should be picked as they mature. The pericarp and pulp should be washed off. The washed seeds can be used as water seeds. If they are not used, they should be stored in the shade. Sunlight exposure will reduce the germination rate.

6, winter: ginseng in the "frost" before and after the ginseng stem and leaf close to wither, by the roots of the ginseng plant cut off, the garden ridge surface covered with grass out of the ginseng garden, ridge covered with grass or old grass curtain or with the operation of the soil planed up to cover it about 5~8 cm.

7, harvest: ginseng can be harvested when it grows to 4~6 years, harvest is generally carried out before and after the end of autumn "frost" when the above-ground plants become yellow, to avoid causing less beard, broken roots phenomenon, the ginseng dug out of the soil immediately transported back, timely processing, to prevent drying or moldy.
