Shengdi alias raw rehmannia, wild yellow, it is for Scrophulariaceae plant rehmannia root tuber, perennial herbs, traditional Chinese medicine in China. It has the functions of clearing heat and cooling blood, benefiting yin and promoting body fluid, stopping bleeding and anticoagulation. It mainly treats fever, yin injury, sore throat and other diseases. It has great market demand and sells well at home and abroad, so many people grow it to become rich. So how does it grow? Let's take a look.

1. Land selection and preparation

It has strong adaptability. It grows wild on sandy land and barren slope with good drainage. It likes the environment with sufficient light. It is suitable for planting in loose and fertile soil. If the soil is sticky or hard, it will affect the growth of root tuber and affect the yield. If the soil drainage is poor, it is easy to accumulate water, which will lead to root rot. In addition, it is best to rotate with sorghum, vegetables, cotton and other crops for 3-4 years. When planting, the soil will be deeply ploughed 30cm, and after fertilizer is applied, deep ploughing will be carried out, and the soil will be raked for fine bedding.

2. Seed selection and planting

When selecting seedlings for sowing, strict specifications should be adopted. Plants without diseases and strong growth should be selected. After seed selection, they should be folded into small pieces with a size of about 5cm, dried for 1-2 hours, and sown after the wound heals. When sowing, it is reasonable to plant closely, generally about 100 kg per mu, cover 5-7cm of soil after sowing, water, and increase the ground temperature in low temperature areas by covering the ground. As long as the temperature and moisture are appropriate, it can sprout in 25-30 days.

3. Fertilizer and water management

When fertilizing rehmannia, more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be applied. In addition, it is extremely important to apply sufficient base fertilizer to the yield. After the seedlings are neat, in order to make the seedlings grow quickly, it is necessary to apply fertilizer at the same time of watering. At this time, 15 kg urea should be applied per mu. It can be washed in dissolved water or watered immediately after fertilization to accelerate fertility absorption. In the middle of growth, that is, in July, 10-20 kg phosphorus fertilizer should be applied per mu. When growing in the raw land, water frequently to keep the soil moist, but in the late growth stage, when the root tuber grows, fear of ponding at this time, it is easy to cause rotten roots, so watering at this time should be based on the principle of no drought, no watering in the shade and no watering at noon.

4. Field management

When the seedlings grow to more than 10cm, they should be thinned in time, leaving one plant in each hole. If there is a lack of plants, they should be supplemented. When the seedlings are supplemented, they should be carried out on cloudy days. It is best to transplant them with soil. In the early stage of plant growth, seedlings are too small, and the root system is shallow. Weeding should be carried out at this time to avoid affecting the growth of seedlings. Weeding should be shallow hoe or pulled out by hand to avoid damaging the root system. If planting in large areas, it is recommended to use herbicides. In addition to the taproot, rehmannia will grow some slender underground stems, called cross-skinned roots, which will damage a large number of nutrients in the plant and should be removed in time.

The above is the cultivation technology of rehmannia, I hope to help you, if you want to know more about the cultivation of medicinal herbs, please pay attention to us.
