Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Hubei Suizhou down the mountain, Shaoxing Zhao Yinquan purchase and planting. In 2007, he participated in two orchid exhibitions, Zhuji Orchid Exhibition and Xinchang Orchid Exhibition. Before and after flowering for more than 15 days, the flower did not change.

Cymbidium, also known as nine-section orchid, Xia Lan, has its cool and crisp, rigid and soft orchid leaves, graceful posture, clear fragrance, refreshing fragrance, thus attracting thousands of orchid lovers. It has masculine beauty, simple beauty, is favored by more and more people. People in cymbidium "hot", the first problem encountered is where to buy genuine good cymbidium? Fake and inferior commodities are rampant everywhere in the market now. Cymbidium is a commodity, and of course it is no exception. There are fake ones, and there are also inferior ones. There are hundreds of tricks, such as impostors, flowers and trees, fish eyes mixed with pearls, everything. I began to plant cymbidium, eager to succeed, credulous Fujian Yongfu Town and other blue liar rhetoric, for which I paid a heavy price, paid a lot of tuition fees. I learned a lesson later, determined to learn the knowledge of identifying cymbidium varieties, carefully choose the object and timing of purchasing orchids, go to the credit, reputable national orchid companies, sample gardens and local reputable orchid breeding households to purchase, and pay attention to the timing of flowering, so as to identify the merits of varieties, select healthy seedlings, so that the introduced cymbidium varieties and quality can be guaranteed. To buy a good orchid, the key is to plant it well, take root and sprout, and bloom good flowers. There are many orchid friends reflect that it is difficult to plant cymbidium, especially the "return seedlings" introduced from abroad. According to the exploration of these years, I feel that cymbidium is not more difficult to plant than spring orchid. It has stronger vitality. It is both cold-resistant and dry-resistant. It can be managed extensively. The key is to understand its characteristics and master its growth law. Cymbidium grows on sunny slopes of high mountains, with plenty of sunshine and good ventilation conditions. The ancients said that "orchid gives birth to yin, lily gives birth to yang", so family cultivation of cymbidium should pay attention to solving the problem of illumination and set up a similar ecological environment for it. Put the orchid basin in the southeast sunny position, so that it enjoys sufficient sunshine all the year round. In addition to summer and early autumn, sunscreens should be used to shield the sun around noon, and the sun can be directly exposed in other seasons to enhance photosynthesis, accelerate nutrient production and promote plant growth. Practice has proved that cymbidium more like sunlight than cymbidium, often receive sunlight, plant robust, high germination rate, but also easy to bloom. Cymbidium, which is usually placed in a dark corner and does not shine in the sun, has poor growth, low germination rate, weak disease resistance and is difficult to bloom. "Love sunshine and fear darkness" is one of the characteristics of Cymbidium. Another characteristic of cymbidium is that its false scale difference is very small, and the leaves are more and longer than spring orchid. False bulbs are the place where orchids store nutrients. False bulbs are small and store relatively little nutrients, while leaves are many and long, consuming more nutrients accordingly. In the natural environment, cymbidium * developed roots, absorbing nutrients from the earth to meet their own growth needs. Family orchids are limited by flowerpots and cannot give full play to the advantages of developed roots. They must be fertilized many times to supplement nutrients. Therefore, the fertilization of cymbidium should be more than spring orchid, all kinds of elements should be scientifically matched, thin fertilizer should be applied frequently, nutrients should be absorbed in the plant according to its own roots, and appropriate fertilizer should be applied outside the roots to spray liquid fertilizer on the leaves to accelerate the nutrient absorption of the orchid plant. If the same level of fertilization according to cymbidium, cymbidium can not accelerate the breeding, thrive. But also can not be thick fertilizer heavy application, lest suffer fertilizer harm, become uprooted seedlings, counterproductive. Another characteristic of cymbidium is that its roots are particularly strong, and the roots undertake the heavy task of absorbing and transporting nutrients. As the saying goes, raise orchids first raise roots. In order to ensure the ventilation and healthy growth of orchid roots, especially to connect with the original ecological environment of "returning seedlings", the plant materials must be loose, and the particles should be coarse rather than fine. Of course, not the thicker the better, as large as soybeans such as mung beans are applicable. I use green fairy soil, broken brick particles plus humus soil "three-in-one" plant material, it has strong permeability, but also can keep water and fertilizer, the effect is better. But pay attention to three points: First, fairy soil must be soaked to make it penetrate, so as to facilitate long-lasting moisture; Second, broken brick particles should be washed, remove dust, grind off sharp edges and corners, and avoid stabbing orchid roots; Third, humus soil should be sterilized by sun exposure, pick up branches, roots, stones and other impurities, sift out powdery fine soil, leave granular mud, mix well with fairy soil and broken brick particles. Because cymbidium root prosperous, so orchid basin appropriate big and deep, generally to tile basin as well, so that its roots can stretch growth. Zisha basin can also be, it is beautiful in style, good moisture, but pay attention to control water. With earthen pots and granular plant materials to water more, with purple sand pots and humus materials, water should be properly less watering. Cymbidium also has a characteristic, like clusters, do not like single points. Too many pots are unfavorable to the growth of orchid plants. Spring orchid seedlings can also survive, cymbidium pseudoscale small, it is difficult to carry out single plant reproduction, even if barely survived, but also the more small, it is difficult to flower in a short period of time, the result is not worth the loss. According to the characteristics of cymbidium, such as liking light, fearing darkness, liking ventilation, fearing occlusion, liking loosening, fearing hardening, liking fertilization, fearing strong, liking clustering and fearing single division, I cultivate cymbidium, and provide an environment that is more suitable for its ecological requirements, so that cymbidium grows healthily. In March last year, I introduced 3 seedlings from other places, 4 seedlings from other places, and soon developed new roots and buds in that year. Then continued to introduce Nanyang plum, Qinghua plum, new best and other traditional species. In addition, from Shaoxing Jin Dingxian, Hangzhou Liang Pinfu, Xinchang Xie Fortune and other large orchid farmers to buy Duan Huimei, Da Yipin, Xie Peimei and other names, varieties can be true *, growth is relatively robust. While introducing traditional species, I am more interested in discovering rare new species from local orchids. In March last year, 3 seedlings of multi-petal plum shaped flowers were collected from the mountain of this county, named "sprinkling Jinbao". In that year, 5 seedlings were sent, and 3 seedlings were exchanged with Lanyou. This year, 3 seedlings were sent again. At present, 8 seedlings have been strong. At the same time bought 4 seedlings plum narcissus "Qiaoyun", has also been sent to 7 seedlings, but also opened flowers, a pole 13 flowers, flowers better than the flowers down the mountain. The 2 seedlings bought the year before last have already reached 8 seedlings this year, and they have also blossomed again. In addition, there are some new varieties of Cymbidium collected successively, such as lotus petal, plum petal and butterfly flower, which grow vigorously and the germination rate is generally above 70%.
