Last Updated: 2024/11/06, This is a plant of the tequila family. Maybe you've heard of Hu Pilan, but you haven't heard of this plant, have you? In fact, it is very simple, just because the edge of the leaf is golden, hence the name. Look at the picture of it and you will see it very clearly. It originated in the tropics and later distributed in the subtropics. There is no doubt that the golden yellow on the edge of its leaves is the most beloved. But if it disappears, it must be very disturbing. So, what should we do?

1. The reason for the disappearance of Phnom Penh

The most commonly used method of propagation of this plant is cutting. However, this method also has a drawback, which is that the seedlings cultivated by it often lose the golden edges of its leaves. This is because its Phnom Penh is a very special stripe, which cannot be passed on to future generations unconditionally. However, through special methods, we can also keep it.

2. How to keep Phnom Penh from disappearing

(1) first of all, take the selected adult plants out of the basin and dispose of the sticky soil, then cut off the small outer leaves and break off two or three large leaves, which are about 13 to 15 centimeters long.

(2) then, treat the wound with charcoal, furnace ash, or plant ash to avoid infection. After that, the original plant is planted in a pot as is, and it will not be used for the time being.

(3) the next step is to deal with the long leaves we got. The specific method is to cut off the upper leaves, then put the leaf sheath down and insert it into the flowerpot. Keep the ambient temperature around twenty degrees Celsius. In doing so, one or four new buds will soon grow, and they all have the original Phnom Penh.
