Let us first understand what this plant is, in order to know the difference between them. It is also known as "Laba Li","melon Li" and so on, is a kind of kapok family, evergreen small shrubs, often used to do potted plants.

2. The difference between the two

(1) Leaves, flowers and fruits: This is the difference between the appearance of the two. The first is the leaves. For the first plant, there are six to nine leaflets, sparsely stellate, with short soft hairs or no hairs, and the leaves are papery or leathery. For the second plant, it has five to eleven leaflets, some with short stalks, some without, its shape is often round or ovate, its base is wedge shaped, and its leaves are hairless.

Then there are their flowers, the first is a paniculate inflorescence, terminal, pink in color; the second is needle-shaped or linear, yellowish green in color.

Finally, the fruit of the former is spherical and dark red; the fruit of the second is close to pear shape and dark brown.

(2) Flowering period: The flowering period of the first kind of plants is from November to December; the flowering period of the second kind is from May to November, which is longer.

3. The role of goosewood

Although it is not a rich tree, it has a similar effect. In fact, it also has the meaning of lucky prosperity. In addition, it can also be used to ward off evil spirits. It is good to keep it indoors, in the office, or in the courtyard.
