Notopterygium is a perennial herb, its medicinal part is its stem and root, can be used to treat external cold, headache, rheumatic pain and so on. Planted in Shaanxi, Sichuan and Qinghai in China, it has the characteristics of being cool, moist, cold-resistant, light-loving but afraid of strong light. So how to grow Notopterygium? What problems do you need to pay attention to when planting? Today, let's focus on the matters needing attention in planting Notopterygium.

1. Soil

In fact, the requirement of soil for planting Notopterygium is not high. However, if you want high yield and high quality, whether the soil selection is correct or not is the basis for the successful cultivation of Notopterygium. Planting sites should not be planted on contaminated land, and it is best to stay away from factories and other pollution sources. Secondly, the previous crops in the planting land had better be cereals and beans and potato plants, in which sloping fields and terraces are very good choices. Soil quality requires loose soil, sufficient fertility, rich humus content, and moderate soil pH.

2. Seed treatment

The seeds of Notopterygium should be treated in order to improve its emergence rate, which is generally treated by low-temperature sand storage. First of all, we need to soak the seeds in warm water and remove them to dry after two days. Then wet the seeds with water with fine sand, mix the seeds and fine sand evenly, pack them in a bag, and store them in an environment suitable for seed budding.

3. Sowing time

Notopterygium notopterygium can be sown in spring and autumn, but there is a certain gap in planting time because of the difference in temperature in different parts of our country. The best time to plant Qiang Huo in China is at the end of October every autumn, when the emergence rate is the highest, while half of spring sowing takes place at the end of March every year. Sowing too early and too late will have an impact on the emergence rate, survival rate, yield and quality of Qiang live in the later stage.

4. Density

The growth of Notopterygium needs a certain amount of light, and the permeability of the field is also good, so when planting, the planting density is also a problem that we need to pay attention to. Under normal circumstances, we plant according to the distance of 30 cm between rows and 20 cm between plants. However, if the soil is relatively barren, the distance of each row remains the same, and the distance of each plant is generally about 15 centimeters. Therefore, we need to adjust the planting density according to the fertility of the soil and the varieties of Qiang living.

5. Remove the buds

Because the main valuable part of Notopterygium is its root and stem, so we mainly promote the growth of rhizome. In the florescence of Qiang, the buds of Notopterygium are removed without leaving seeds, so as to avoid the loss of nutrients and affect the growth of the rhizome. If you need to keep the seed, you need to separate the seed from the commercial Qiang, and you need to remove the buds of the commercial Qiang.

Notopterygium notopterygium is a kind of medicinal material which is very easy to grow, and the yield of planting is relatively high, which can reach about 600 jin per mu each year after processing. In spite of this, we know more about its planting considerations in the process of planting, which is to further improve its yield and quality.
