Dipsacus, also known as monk's head, is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, which gets its name because of its continuous fracture. It has the functions of tonifying liver, strengthening muscles and bones, fixing meridians and collaterals, treating abnormal leucorrhea, stopping soreness of muscles and bones, and treating cough and hemoptysis. So how to plant Dipsacus? Let's take a look at the detailed introduction with the editor.

1. Land selection and preparation

Dipsacus is suitable to be planted in areas above 1600 meters above sea level, but it is suitable for sandy loam with deep soil layer, good drainage and loose soil. When planted in land with soil consolidation or poor fertility, its root system will grow poorly, have more bifurcations, and its quality will be affected, and root rot will occur easily in summer with high temperature and humidity. Before planting, 2000 kg of rotten farm manure and 50 kg of compound fertilizer should be applied per mu of land preparation as base fertilizer. After shaping and raking, a high border should be made with a width of 30-40 cm to facilitate watering and drainage.

2. Sowing and raising seedlings

Generally use seed propagation, sowing generally use direct seeding and seedling transplanting, in alpine areas generally use the method of seedling transplanting, can fully improve the utilization rate of land. The sowing time is usually from June to July in summer. Before sowing, soak the seeds in warm hot water for 10 hours, make them absorb enough water, put them into warm water to accelerate germination, water them 1-2 times a day, and sow seeds when the buds germinate. When sowing, the border surface will be watered thoroughly, and then the seeds will be mixed with fine soil according to the proportion of 1 ∶ 3, and then sowed evenly on the border surface, generally using 10 kg of seed per mu. Covering with a thin layer of soil after sowing can also be covered with grass for heat preservation and moisturization. after the seedlings are unearthed, they should be removed in time, and the weeding work should be strengthened at the same time.

3. Transplanting and planting

After the beginning of the spring of the following year, the soil can be transplanted after thawing. The seedlings should be watered once and then pulled up gently. If the soil is hardened, a small hoe or shovel can be used to loosen the soil. Seedlings to be placed in a cool and ventilated place, it is best to plant along with the plant, the latest should not exceed 48 hours, so as not to affect the survival rate. When planting, the plant spacing should be controlled at 20-25 cm and the row spacing should be 30-40 cm. Generally, about 1500 plants per mu should be planted. When planting, the roots of the seedlings must be extended, and enough water should be irrigated after transplanting.

4. Field management

After transplanting, weeding should be carried out in time to promote the growth of seedlings, but it should be careful not to damage the roots and leaves, and 2-3 times of weeding should be carried out in the later stage to ensure that there are no weeds in the field. After 20 days of transplanting, when the seedlings turn green, the application of 1500-2000 kg of dilute human and animal manure and 20 kg of urea per mu can promote the rapid growth of seedlings. In addition, it is necessary to do a good job in the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests in the later stage, so as not to affect the quality and yield.
