Artemisia Compositae plant Artemisia annua, also known as Artemisia, pine hair moxa, wormwood grass, it is not only a kind of wild vegetables, but also a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, the whole grass can be used as medicine, can treat wind-cold-damp arthralgia, jaundice, hot dysentery, scabies and scabies. So how to plant Artemisia annua? Let's get to know it.

1. Land selection and preparation

Artemisia annua is generally wild in riverside, grassland and wasteland. It does not have strict requirements on soil and can grow in a variety of soils, but it is appropriate to choose sandy loam with sufficient fertility, loose soil and good drainage when planting. The planting land had better be sunny, with sufficient light, turn the soil 25-30 cm deep before planting, apply 1500-2000 kg of mature farm manure per mu as base fertilizer, rake fine leveling, make borders or ridges, and dig drainage ditches for drainage and watering.

2. Sowing seeds

The propagation method of Artemisia annua is seed propagation and plant propagation. Seeds are generally used in production. The sowing time is usually 2-3 months. After digging ditches or holes on the border surface, the seeds are evenly mixed with 1:2 and fine sand, and then evenly scattered into the ditches or holes. Cover the soil and water it. Do a good job in seedling management after emergence, timely ploughing weeding and replenishing seedlings. When the seedlings grow to 10-15 cm, they can be transplanted, and the row spacing should be controlled about 20-25 cm.

3. Field management

After a week of planting, Artemisia annua has basically survived, so check it in time and replant in time if you do not continue to grow or find dead plants. After replanting, fertilization combined with weeding and weeding can promote faster and better growth of seedlings, and fertilization should be combined with ploughing and watering, which can not only avoid the damage of thick fertilizer to seedling growth, but also improve the utilization rate of fertilizer. On the other hand, mid-tillage can loosen the soil, avoid soil consolidation, prevent root respiration, promote root growth, absorb more nutrients for plants, and promote stem and leaf growth.

4. Pest control

The main diseases of Artemisia annua are root rot and Sclerotinia sclerotior. root rot is a kind of disease that harms the root system, which will lead to root rot and gradually wither the plant if it is not controlled in time. Water management should be done for it. Drainage should be done in time in the rainy season, and chlorothalonil can be used to irrigate the root when the disease occurs. Sclerotinia sclerotiorum is a fungal disease with strong infectivity, so it can be controlled by spraying Bordeaux solution at the initial stage of the disease. The effect is better. The main pests are ground tigers, aphids, etc., which harm the leaves, roots and young parts of the plant. in serious cases, the plants will be eaten clean in a short time, and can be sprayed with trichlorfon, dimethoate milk, dichlorvos and other agents.
