Wood butterfly is a small upright tree of the family Araceae. Its seeds and bark can be used for medicine, clearing the lungs, relieving pharynx and relieving cough, soothing the liver, mouth and stomach, mainly for the treatment of lung heat cough, throat arthralgia, hoarseness, liver and stomach pain. So how to grow wooden butterflies? Let's have a look with the editor.

1. Growth habits

Wood butterflies like warm and humid climate, not cold-resistant, drought and barren, so the requirements for soil are not strict, so it is good to choose warm and sunny plots when planting. In order to obtain high yield, it is appropriate to use sandy loam soil with fertile and loose soil and good drainage. If the soil fertilizer is relatively normal, but the speed is slow, so before planting, according to the fertilizer status of the soil, fertilizing base fertilizer, base fertilizer is mainly organic fertilizer, shaping and raking flat after fertilization, waiting for planting.

2. Methods of reproduction

It is mainly seed reproduction, which is collected when the fruit is ripe and dried in a ventilated place. After the fruit skin is dry, the skin is removed and planted. A plot with plenty of sunshine and loose and breathable soil was selected as the seedling site, and the soil was sterilized before sowing. Can sow or sow, soak in clean water for 24 hours before sowing until it is fully absorbed and then sow. After sowing, cover the soil about 1-2 cm. If the soil is too deep, it may lead to seed rot, watering after covering the soil and keeping the soil moist. Water frequently before emergence, keep the seedbed moist to facilitate emergence, and cover straw, but should be removed in time after emergence.

3. Transplanting

After sowing for one year, transplanting can be carried out in winter or spring. When transplanting, we should pay attention to the density and dig holes with a depth of 30 cm and a width of more than 30 cm. Apply 5-6 kilograms of rotten farm manure at the bottom of the hole, fill some soil and mix evenly, put the plant into the hole, stretch the root system, do not twist together, so as not to affect the growth of the plant. Generally, the filling is to lift the seedlings and cover the soil higher than the hole, and pour fixed root water once after planting to facilitate survival.

4. Field management

After the seedlings are unearthed, they should be watered frequently, keep the soil moist, and weed in time, so that there are no weeds in the field, fertilize once after each weeding, mainly apply clear dung water, or combine weeding in winter and spring, use plant ash or other fertilizers. Rotten farm manure can also be applied around the plant during the high temperature and rainy season from May to June in summer.
