Precious seed is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, but many people are not familiar with it. It is the ripe fruit of Akebia trifoliata or Akebia trifoliata. At present, it is mainly distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, which has the effects of soothing liver and regulating qi, promoting blood circulation and relieving pain, diuresis and other effects. it can be used to treat dysmenorrhea, epigastric distension and pain, adverse urination and other symptoms. So do you know how to plant it? Today, let's first follow the editor to have a simple understanding.

1. Land preparation and consolidation

Precious seed should be planted in sandy loam with loose soil, of course, it is best to grow in soil with sufficient nutrients and high content of humus or organic matter. The second is that Qiaozi is not cold-resistant, so the planting land should be warm, good drainage, avoid strong light, suitable for planting on shady slopes. Turn the soil at least 20 cm deep, apply sufficient barnyard manure or compost, turn the soil again, and mix the soil fertilizer well. However, it should be noted that the soil needs to be turned over again before planting, and the soil clods will be fine and raked flat to make a high border with a width of about 1.5 meters, which can be waiting for planting.

2. Methods of reproduction

There are four methods of seed propagation, which are seed propagation, striping propagation, root propagation and cutting propagation. Seed propagation is generally sown in September or October every year; root-splitting propagation is usually planted from September to November every year; strip propagation and cutting propagation can be carried out all year round. One of the disadvantages of seed propagation is that the growth cycle of seedlings is long and the fruit is late, so many growers do not like this method. Split-root propagation can generally bear fruit in the same year after planting, the growth rate is fast, and it is the most popular planting method at present, but it is worth considering that the amount of planting is large and the planting cost is increased.

3. Transplanting and planting

It takes a period of time to cultivate seedlings before planting and planting. For example, for seed propagation, we usually transplant in the second year, while root-splitting propagation can be planted in the same year, and cuttage propagation needs to wait for the seedlings after cutting to grow new roots before transplanting. Striping propagation is similar to cutting propagation, waiting for new plants to grow new roots, which can be planted as a single individual. The spacing between rows is generally 30 cm, and the spacing between plants is about 20 cm.

4. Field management

It is a very resistant plant, so its field management is also very simple. After transplanting, we usually water the seedlings a week later, which can improve the survival rate of the seedlings. Secondly, in the process of predicting seed growth, attention should be paid to weeding so as not to absorb nutrients by weeds and affect the growth rate of predictive seedlings. In addition, when the seedlings grow new branches, we should tie the vines to promote the growth of the seedlings, and at the same time avoid the harm of pests and diseases to the seedlings. Finally, there is topdressing management, in the case of adequate base fertilizer, it is rarely topdressing, but if topdressing is carried out in accordance with the principle of frequent application of thin fertilizer, mainly farm manure, not partial application of nitrogen fertilizer, so as to avoid excessive growth of seedlings.

The above is the planting technology of Qiaozi, here the editor is just to briefly share with you a planting process and planting methods. If you want to know the detailed planting techniques of Qiaozi, you can follow us, or leave us a message for advice.
