Sanguisorba officinalis is a perennial herb of Rosaceae, which has been cultivated artificially at present, but most of the elm in the market are still wild plants. Sanguisorba officinalis is a kind of Chinese herbal medicine, which has the effects of cooling blood, stopping bleeding, clearing heat and detoxification, detumescence and so on. At present, it is mainly distributed in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Jiangxi, Anhui, Hunan, Guizhou and other places. So what we are going to learn today is the matters needing attention in planting elm. Let's take a look at what we need to pay attention to when planting elm artificially.

1. Soil

Wild Ulmus pumila generally grows on sunny hillsides and has the characteristics of cold resistance, high temperature resistance, stagnant water resistance and so on. The soil of the planting land had better be sandy loam or loam rich in humus and organic matter, and the soil layer had better be loose and solid, so that the soil has strong fertilizer conservation and water retention. Finally, the soil quality of the planting land should be pollution-free, rich in water resources and pollution-free.

2. Soaking seeds

The seeds of Ulmus pumila need to be soaked before sowing. When soaking seeds, we usually use warm water with a temperature of about 35 to 45 degrees in Xuzhou, and the temperature of the water should not be too high or too low, otherwise it will affect the germination rate of seeds. Secondly, when soaking the seeds, we also need to soak the seeds with chemicals to improve the resistance of the seeds, and the soaking time is generally no more than 15 minutes. Rinse the seeds from the medicine with clean water, and finally sprout and sow.

3. Density

When sowing, we should pay attention to the planting density, if the density is too high, it will affect the permeability of the field, lead to field occlusion, depression, affect the normal growth of elm, and cause a series of diseases and insect pests. The planting time row spacing is about 45 cm, and the plant spacing is about 35 to 40 cm. It can also adjust the density appropriately according to the soil fertility, improve the utilization rate of land resources, and achieve the goal of high yield at the same time.

4. Temperature

Although Sanguisorba has certain characteristics of cold resistance and high temperature resistance, they are all targeted. Cold tolerance is mainly shown in its underground growth part, while high temperature tolerance is aimed at the aboveground growth part of Ulmus pumila. Therefore, we also need to strengthen the management of temperature when planting. In general, when sowing, the surface temperature is preferably about 18 degrees, so as to promote the germination speed of seeds. After the emergence of seedlings, we should control the temperature of growth between 20 and 28 degrees. In the later growth process of Ulmus pumila, we need to maintain the soil moisture, which can adjust the underground temperature and promote the normal growth of Ulmus pumila.

The above are the matters that the editor wants to introduce to you when planting elm. In fact, when planting, we also need to pay attention to its water and fertilizer management, picking flowers and buds, which are also very important.
