Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Saffron, also known as saffron, is a common traditional Chinese medicine. Crocus, also known as saffron, is a common Chinese herbal medicine. Saffron has the functions of activating blood circulation, removing blood stasis, treating amenorrhea, postpartum abdominal pain and stimulating appetite. In fact, the scale of saffron cultivation in our country is not large, so everyone is not very familiar with the cultivation technology of saffron, especially when planting saffron, the problems that need attention are even more unclear. So today Xiaobian brought you an introduction to the precautions for saffron planting, hoping to help you.

1. Soil

Crocus planting soil is best selected in sunny, good drainage, irrigation convenience, water and fertilizer conservation, soil rich in organic matter, pH for the slightly acidic or neutral humus soil. In this soil condition, saffron can grow normally. Especially if the viscosity is too heavy or there is stagnant water in the depression, shady land and continuous cropping land, etc., it is not suitable for saffron planting, which will lead to poor growth and development of saffron, and it is easy to get sick.

2. Temperature

Saffron has the characteristics of warm and cold, so we should pay a little attention to the planting temperature when planting. Under normal circumstances, the temperature of the planting ground should not exceed 20 degrees, but in winter, the temperature should not be lower than zero degrees. To promote the growth of saffron bulbs, it is best to keep the temperature at about fifteen degrees Celsius, and if saffron flowers, the temperature is best between fifteen and twenty degrees Celsius. So when we plant saffron, if the temperature is below about five degrees, we need to cover the film, but when the temperature rises, remember to remove the film in time.

3. Humidity

The growth of saffron needs sufficient water, it has the characteristics of wet, but afraid of waterlogging, afraid of ponding. During saffron's growing period, we need to water properly to keep the soil moist and promote the growth of saffron bulbs. After saffron planting, if there is no rain for a long time, water it in time, but avoid excessive humidity to prevent seed bulbs from rotting. There is also the best way to cultivate after watering to avoid soil hardening caused by watering.

4. Fertilization

Saffron has a large demand for nutrients, whether nitrogen or phosphorus and potassium, and its demand is relatively large. When planting saffron, we usually use decomposed farm manure and appropriate amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. In the early stage of saffron growth, we mainly use thin nitrogen fertilizer to promote the growth of saffron plants. When saffron grows later, it is mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, combined with a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer. There is also a point to be careful when topdressing, do not spread fertilizer to saffron branches or flowers, otherwise it may cause burning phenomenon.

The precautions for saffron planting that Xiaobian wants to introduce to you today are here. I believe you have a general understanding of the above contents. If you want to know more about saffron, please pay attention to us.
