Gentleman orchid, also known as Lycoris radiata, Lycoris grandiflora, etc., is a perennial herb of the Amaryllidaceae family. It is native to southern South Africa and has high ornamental value. China is often potted in a greenhouse for viewing. The so-called "clip arrow" refers to the phenomenon that the arrow can not be pulled out when the gentleman orchid draws an arrow and is sandwiched in the tower. Let's take a look at what to do with the arrow clip.

The reason why the gentleman orchid caught the arrow

1. The temperature is too low: the extraction temperature of Cymbidium is about 20 ℃. If the temperature is lower than 15 ℃ for a long time, it is difficult to grow.

2. Lack of nutrition: there is a great demand for phosphorus and potash fertilizer during bud gestation and flowering, and the lack of it will lead to the lack of trapping power.

3. Hypoxia in the basin soil: the oxygen demand of the root system is large during the budding period, and the poor permeability of the basin soil will lead to hypoxia, resulting in the phenomenon of arrow entrapment.

4. Constant temperature cultivation: the flowering of Cymbidium requires a temperature difference of 5 to 8 ℃ between day and night, constant temperature cultivation will affect the accumulation of nutrients, it is easy to clip arrows.

5. Root injury and rotting: if the root system of Cymbidium is damaged or rotten, the nutrient absorption channel will be blocked and the plant will blossom.

6. Bad varieties: some varieties of Cymbidium are born with arrows.

What about the arrow in the gentleman's orchid?

1. Adjust the temperature: the suitable temperature for the growth of Cymbidium is 1525 ℃. When it is lower than 15 ℃, it will grow badly, especially if it is less than 15 ℃ before coming out, the scape will be difficult to extract, so it is necessary to adjust the temperature in time to facilitate scape extraction.

2. Adjust the temperature difference: the growth habit of Cymbidium is fond of large temperature difference between day and night, but it is difficult to extract scape if the temperature difference is small. After flower bud differentiation and before scurrying, the temperature should be controlled at about 10 ℃, so it is easier to shoot arrows, otherwise the phenomenon of arrow entrapment will occur.

3. Rational fertilization: after 3 years of cultivation, it is necessary to increase the number of fertilization times in autumn. It is best to apply liquid fertilizer with more phosphorus content, and alternately apply nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. If necessary, 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate foliar fertilizer can be applied to promote flower bud formation and early flowering.

4. Watering at the right time: the lack of water will also hinder the scape growth and lead to arrow entrapment, so it is necessary to increase the amount of water to keep the basin soil moist, otherwise the bulbs and leaves will hinder the physiological activities of the plant due to lack of water. so that the arrow clip affects flowering.

5. Cut the arrow scape: when the gentleman orchid turns to reproductive growth, you should always pay attention to the changes of the bulb. If the arrow is caught due to excessive pressure on the bulb, the leaf sheath holding the arrow scape can be cut open 1.5 cm with a sharp knife to reduce the pressure on the scape at the base of the leaf sheath and promote the scape.

How to raise a gentleman orchid?

1. Soil: Magnolia is suitable for acidic and corrosive soil with good air permeability, sufficient water but not too saturated, which can be mixed with 65% humus soil, 20% net sand and 15% fine furnace ash. Soil needs to be changed constantly in the process of growth.

2. Fertilization: the orchid should apply solid fertilizer once in winter, less nitrogen fertilizer, more phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer, and can also apply nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer to promote its germination of more new plants and leaves, but fertilization must be appropriate. Do not apply thick fertilizer and raw fertilizer that has not been fermented.

3. Watering: the gentleman orchid can combine watering with fermented bean cake water, fresh fish water and horseshoe water every 20 days or so. Watering should be controlled when the room temperature is low to prevent the basin soil from being too wet, which will cause the death of the rotten roots of the plant, but it can not make the basin soil too dry.

4. Temperature: the suitable temperature for the growth of Cymbidium in winter is 15-20 ℃, which should not be lower than 10 ℃. The temperature should be kept at about 18 ℃ after scurrying, and the temperature difference between day and night should be about 10 ℃, otherwise the flower arrow will blossom if it does not reach a proper height, and it is easy to form a "sandwiched arrow".

5. Illumination: Cymbidium is a medium-light plant, in which scattered light is the best, and there is no need for strong light in the process of growth, especially in summer. In winter, strong light will shorten the flowering period, medium light can prolong the flowering period, and short-day treatment can be used if early flowering is needed.
