What if the yellow leaves of the latest rubber tree fall off?
Rubber tree is evergreen woody foliage plant, leaves are large, thick leather, shiny, round to long oval, leaf dark green, leaf back light green, placed in the home is a very lively plant, but sometimes there will be some small problems, such as rubber tree leaves yellow or even appear to drop leaves, today's small series to introduce to you is rubber tree leaves yellow, drop leaves reasons and solutions:
Soil hardening caused by long time without changing pots
[Cause] Rubber tree needs to change the pot once a year in the early stage of growth, the pot diameter should be larger than a year, and the pot can be changed once every three years after 6~8 years of growth. If the pot is not changed for a long time, the pot soil will be severely hardened, and the soil ventilation will be poor, resulting in suffocation and necrosis of the fibrous roots of rubber trees, unable to absorb water and nutrients, causing the leaves of plants to wither and fall off.
[Solution] When the temperature reaches more than 15 degrees, turn the pot, cut off the dead roots, and shake off most of the soil. Remove the yellow leaves, cut the stems properly, replace the original hardened pot soil with fresh fertile culture soil, and keep the soil moist frequently, which can promote the re-emergence of new roots, restore healthy state, and grow into multi-branched plants. In the future maintenance to keep the pot soil permeability is good, in keeping the pot soil moderately moist at the same time, can be loose every 15 days to 20 days pot soil, so as not to cause repeated watering pot soil hardening and promote rotten roots or root atrophy.
Long time without fertilizer
[Cause] Rubber trees like big fertilizer and water, and long-term non-fertilization will cause malnutrition, resulting in yellow leaves.
[Solution] Add appropriate amount of base fertilizer when changing pots, remove yellow leaves, and then apply liquid fertilizer once every half month, mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.
Low winter temperatures
The minimum adaptation temperature of rubber trees is 6~8 degrees or more. If the room temperature in winter is lower than 5 degrees, the leaves will be yellow and fall off.
[Solution] Increase the winter temperature and be sure to keep it above 6~8 degrees.
watering or fertilizing too much
Although rubber trees are water-loving and fertilizer-loving plants, if they are watered and fertilized too much, especially from August to September, when the weather is still hot, they are watered too much, and water is formed in the basin; or they are watered too much during winter, and the plants are in dormancy period, transpiration is reduced, and water in the basin cannot be discharged in time; or they are mispoured with raw fertilizer, large fertilizer, and thick fertilizer, and the roots will rot due to water damage and fertilizer damage, resulting in withered leaves. If it is rotten roots caused by fertilizer, the roots will be accompanied by an unpleasant smell.
[Solution] Cut off the rotten roots until the wound section is fresh and white milk oozes out. Spread and air slightly until the wound milk is dried, or smear sulfur powder on the wound for disinfection, or wipe clean plant ash and charcoal chips on the wound, and cut off part of branches at the same time, so as to reduce the transpiration consumption of water, and then change the pot for planting; When replanting, it is advisable to use clean and slightly moist fine sand to surround the root wound first, plant it with fresh loose sand soil outside, strengthen shading and spray management, and do not water the pot until the soil is dry; As long as the root system of the plant is not too badly damaged, new tender fibrous roots can be produced at the wound of the root system after one month. Later maintenance can often keep the basin soil slightly wet, not excessive watering, can be in the morning and evening to spray more leaves.
lack of water
Because the indoor air is too dry, the pot soil moisture is not enough to supply the transpiration of all the leaves, resulting in some leaves, especially the old leaves in the lower part, yellowing or even falling off.
[Solution] From time to time check the moisture level of the basin soil, timely replenishment, morning and evening to spray water on the leaves, if still insufficient, you can spray water on the leaves around noon. Note: The water temperature of watering and spraying water should be basically the same as the soil temperature and room temperature. If the water temperature of watering and spraying water is greatly different from the soil temperature and air temperature, it is easy to cause adverse physiological reactions.
Poor indoor ventilation
If the indoor is not ventilated for a long time, some harmful gases are accumulated, such as high carbon dioxide concentration, yellow leaves will also occur.
[Solution] Timely window ventilation, keep indoor ventilation and fresh air can be improved. In winter, doors and windows can be opened at noon to change indoor air at higher temperatures.
Long-term shade
Rubber tree is a tropical tree species, like sunshine, not tolerant of shade, if you can not see sunlight for a long time indoors, there will also be yellow leaves.
[Solution] Put the plants in a place where there is sunlight.
Probably infected with gray mold.
Gray mold is a common fungal disease in open field and protected field crops and is difficult to control. It belongs to low temperature and high humidity disease. When the growth temperature of pathogenic bacteria is 20~30℃, the temperature is 20~25℃ and the humidity lasts above 90%, it is the high incidence period of disease.
[Solution] Found that the diseased leaves should be removed in time to burn. Increase indoor light and raise room temperature. Or alternatively spraying 50% Nongliling WP 1200 times or 40% Chlorothalonil WP 600 times once every 7 to 10 days for 2 to 3 times continuously, the spread of the disease can be effectively controlled.
