The fruit shape of golden fruit is strange, the viewing period is up to half a year, bright fruit color, is a kind of precious ornamental fruit plant. Like warm, humid and sunny environment, the suitable temperature for growth is 15-25 ℃, has a certain degree of cold resistance, afraid of waterlogging and drought. Can withstand a low temperature of 3 to 4 ℃. Suitable for fertile, loose and well-drained sandy loam. The winter temperature should not be lower than 12 ℃. It can be propagated by sowing and cutting, and is widely used in cut flowers and potted flowers.

How do golden fruits reproduce?

Golden fruit is commonly used and cuttage propagation. Sowing and pot sowing in spring, the optimum temperature for germination was 20-25 ℃, and germinated 10 days after sowing. Cuttings, cuttings with top twigs as cuttings in summer, 12-15cm long, inserted into sand bed, rooting in 15-20 days, transplanting in open field or pot in 30 days.

Pest control of golden fruit

Leaf spot disease and anthracnose are common. Spray with 10% antibacterial agent 401 acetic acid solution 1000 times. Pests include aphids and whiteflies, which are sprayed with 2.5% fish rattan essential oil 1000 times.

Golden fruit has fewer diseases and insect pests during the growing period, and occasionally has the harm of virus disease and red spider, which can be controlled with 70% methyl topiramate and 40% oxydimethrin respectively.

How to raise the golden fruit?

Choose fertile, loose and well-drained sandy loam, such as poor drainage, the root is very easy to rot. Golden fruit likes fertilizer, fertilizing once every semimonthly during the growing period, and applying 2-3 times more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer from pregnant bud to young fruit. When the florescence is dried at high temperature, the pollen is not easy to disperse, which affects the pollination result. Pay attention to watering and shading. In autumn, 50-60cm fruiting branches were cut as cuttings, mainly stems and fruits, leaves were removed and inserted in clean water to keep fresh.

1. Soil. Golden fruit grows well in weak acid sandy soil with deep soil layer, loose and fertile soil and good drainage, but it can also grow in neutral and weakly alkaline soil.

2. Fertilization. When applying sufficient base fertilizer to change the basin, 50 grams of hoof horn can be applied in each basin, more nitrogen fertilizer should be applied at seedling stage, liquid fertilizer should be applied once every half month, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be mainly applied after flowering and fruit setting, or 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution should be sprayed on the leaf surface to make the fruit strong and the seeds full.

3. Temperature. Golden fruit likes warmth and is not resistant to cold. It should be kept indoors for 10 ℃ to 25 ℃, the suitable temperature for growth is 20 ℃ to 30 ℃, the growth is slow from 5 ℃ to 10 ℃, the growth stops below 5 ℃, and the freezing injury occurs below 0 ℃. It can endure a high temperature of about 35 ℃ in summer, but it should not last too long.

4. Light. Like sufficient sunshine, avoid long-term shade, the most suitable for growing in strong light, if the light is not enough, the plant will grow, leaves yellowing and falling off.

5. Moisture. Golden fruit likes to be moist, avoid drought and stagnant water, watering once or twice a day in summer to prevent over-drying and falling leaves, affecting growth, blooming soil is too wet and easy to fall flowers, reduce fruit setting rate, fruit ripening soil should be moist, prevent fruit dry and yellow without light. When dried at high temperature, it is easy to blossom but not bear fruit.

6. Dwarfing and thinning fruit. In order to make tall plants fully dwarf, the terminal buds can be removed when the stems and branches grow to 50 cm high, so that the plants no longer grow tall and let lateral buds grow. When the lateral bud grows to an appropriate height, it is sprayed with paclobutrazol to inhibit the height and promote its flowering until the fruit is ripe. After the result, if the plant has too much fruit, a bracket should be set up to prevent breaking and lodging, and the fruit can be properly thinned without affecting the ornamental fruit to ensure the large fruit.
